Kendall and I met in 2010 while touring George Mason University. I was set on going to GMU but Kendall hadn't committed to the school yet. After stolen smiles throughout the tour and a very brief chat while surveying a dorm room closet, I later found Kendall eating dinner with his mom at the main dining hall and confidently gave him my number. He texted me a few hours later on the car ride home and within weeks we were inseparable. Everyday we would talk during school and into the early morning hours -- Kendall even stole his sister's phone and climbed down the side of the house to talk with me! Ten years later...we haven't stopped talking. Since meeting at the age of 17, we have grown immensely over the years-- through college, long distance, new jobs, living together, and adopting the best 4-legged child. We are thrilled to take this next step with the support of our family and friends and say "I Do" to a lifetime together!

In November 2019, we traveled to Spain for our first European adventure. After touring Valencia, Toledo, and Segovia, it was our final day in Madrid before returning home. Kendall had suggested we visit the Temple of Debod, 14th century Egyptian ruins gifted to the Spanish government in 1968, before brunch. It was the only event he had planned for the trip so obviously I went along with it. When we arrived early that morning, it was a beautiful sunny day and we were attempting to take a photo with the temple in the background but weren't having much luck. A stranger walking by offered to take our photo and asked if we wanted to face the temple and get a romantic shot. I turned around as instructed and then heard Kendall say "Katherine Marie Sullenger" behind me. I turned around to see him on one knee and our friendly 'stranger' photographer capturing the moment Kendall promised a lifetime of adventures. After I said yes (and I finished crying), we walked around the park surrounding the temple and had an engagement session. It was the most perfect moment and one I truly never expected!
