Question

Is this an outdoor wedding?

Answer

Yes, this is an outdoor wedding. Ceremony, dinner, and reception will be held outside. There will be heaters, there will be some available indoor space, but please dress accordingly and feel free to bring layers.

Question

Excuse me, camping?

Answer

Yes! For real! True tent-camping! Think basic national park campground. There will be bathrooms with plumbing, some fairy lights for ambiance, and a lot of hanging out. There will also be some strict rules related to stoves, fires, and any other open flame source because it is still camping in California in the year 2023.

Question

Dress Code?

Answer

"Cocktail attire - but in the woods" Somewhere in between clothes you would wear camping and clothes you would wear to a wedding. We request that guests do not wears jeans, white dresses, or shorts, but other than that as formal as one can be while enjoying the outdoors. There is a lot of soft ground and a few sets of stairs leading to our ceremony space, please consider comfortable foot wear.

Question

Will there be cell phone reception?

Answer

Our understanding is there will be spotty cell phone reception depending on your carrier, but that wifi will be available near the reception space

Question

This wedding is at a Buddhist retreat center?

Answer

Yes! Pema Osel Ling is a Buddhist retreat center, there are some private Buddhist residences on site we will not have access to and others, like the Shrine room, guests can enter if they like. Pema Osel Ling kindly asks that everyone remove their footwear when entering one of the houses (Sangha House/Pomerantz Family, Orchard House/Toporowski Family) and especially if visiting the shrine, as a sign of respect. One more reason to bring comfortable shoes.

Question

How do we get there?

Answer

Google maps will give you two routes, if you are coming from Santa Cruz/Aptos you will take Freedom Blvd up to Eureka Canyon Road. This is the route the shuttles will take the day of. If you are coming from San Jose or San Francisco, you will be routed from route 17 to Summit Road to eventually Highland Way - this road is CLOSED, even if it appears on your GPS to be the fastest way, there are two sections of the road that are closed and are active construction sites. We suggest you drive into Santa Cruz and then up Freedom Blvd to reach the venue.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We are working on it, it will be on the website once it's finished.

Question

Parking on premises?

Answer

There is plenty.

For all the days along the way
