FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely. There's a lot of room to run around at the venues and many other kids to play with!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Yes, absolutely! If the website doesn't allow you to add your date, just email us.

Question

Should I be vaccinated for COVID-19?

Answer

If you are medically eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, we ask that you be fully vaccinated (including boosters) before attending our wedding. (Kids 5 and up too!)

Question

Should we drive to the ceremony and reception venue?

Answer

There is plenty of parking near the Meadow View Barn so you are very welcome to drive. But, if you're staying at Shaker Village it's probably easier to walk! (It's about half a mile.)

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal. Semi-formal dress codes call for a more relaxed look than what’s required at a formal black-tie event. It's a way of telling guests to put on something nice without requiring them to purchase an expensive gown or rent a tux. Note that the ceremony will be outside and the reception will be in a barn with a gravel floor, so stilettos may be a poor choice.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

There is plenty to occupy a day or two at Shaker Village and the restaurant on site serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so if you are flying into Lexington's Bluegrass airport, it isn't necessary. The cab fare from Bluegrass airport to Shaker Village is about $45.
