Just days before Kate was leaving on an trip to Australia with her best friend Rachel, Kate came across Bryant's profile on Bumble, an online dating app. He was tall, dark, handsome, and witty...and she had to know more. Bryant's profile said he had tickets to a Washington National's baseball game, but Kate (shockingly) had a date that night. She asked Bryant for a rain check to the Nationals game, to which Bryant responded he was only in town for the night... and he was heading back home the next day. Go figure - Mr. Tall, Dark & Handsome wasn't from DC, he lived on the other side of the country in Seattle! Bryant told Kate he'd be back in two weeks for work again, and he would text her to meet up. Two weeks flew by, and Kate and Bryant finally met up for drinks. Kate introduced Bryant to some of the finer establishments on U street, and a whirlwind five hour date to many drinking establishments on a Monday night ensued. But alas, Bryant had to return home to Seattle - again! They stayed in touch the entire time Kate was in Australia, and planned Kate's first visit to Seattle a few months later. After dating long distance for several months, Kate and Bryant made things official. Bryant moved to Maryland in May of 2018, and the rest is history.
