Kate’s little sister, maid of honor, and built-in best friend. Kirby’s 21st birthday is just a few weeks before the wedding, so we’re fully expecting her to be both the life of the party and the reason for at least one story everyone will still be laughing about years from now. Whether she’s keeping Kate grounded, making everyone laugh, or breaking out the worm on the dance floor, Kirby brings joy wherever she goes. She’s the kind of sister who celebrates every win, tells you the truth when you need it, and makes life more fun. Kate can’t imagine this day without her.

Emma Smith

Emma has been by Kate’s side since childhood, from the first day of kindergarten to graduating from Texas A&M. They’ve shared every season of life together, from middle school sleepovers to long days in the arena. When Brant first texted Kate, Emma was right there beside her on a road trip somewhere in New Mexico — the first person Kate told, “I’m going to marry him.” Through all the miles and all the years, Emma has been a constant in Kate's life.

Cali started out as Kate’s random college roommate at Texas A&M and quickly became one of her closest friends. An architecture major with serious talent, she somehow balanced design projects, keeping their room spotless, and making sure Kate always had a friend to share a meal with at Sbisa. Cali also bravely protected Kate from rogue squirrels on campus, which deserves its own award. No one loves a vacuum or a glass of milk more than Cali, and no one could have been a better friend through the chaos of college and beyond.

Madelyn Ferguson

Kate and Madelyn grew up kicking soccer balls and became close in high school when they were both coached by Madelyn’s dad, also named Brant. That name overlap has caused a few unfortunate texting mix-ups over the years (sorry, Coach Bird). Madelyn is loyal, thoughtful, and always up for a good laugh about it. She’s now a dedicated nurse who somehow manages to balance long shifts and married life with her husband, a state trooper. Kate admires her strength, heart, and sense of humor and is so thankful to have her here to celebrate.

Brittley Bowers

Brittley is Brant’s sister, soon-to-be newlywed herself, and a grad student at West Texas A&M. She’s an academic all-star who could honestly run for president one day and win. The first time she and Kate met was during a COVID saliva test on campus (not exactly the picture-perfect introduction) but it didn’t take long before they were at a Robert Earl Keen concert that got a little out of hand in the best way. Since then, Brittley has been nothing but thoughtful, welcoming, and endlessly inclusive. She has a way of making everyone feel like family, and Kate feels lucky to officially call her that soon.

Hayley Bowers

Hayley is married to Bryce, Brant’s brother, and is the proud mom of two of the ring bearers, Buddy and Bear. She has a gift for lifting people up and is a real example of hard work and entrepreneurship, something Kate has always admired. Hayley was Kate’s sponsor when she became Catholic, and she offered steady guidance and genuine support every step of the way. She is thoughtful and somehow always remembers the important days, sending a text that makes you feel cared for. She brings warmth, humor, and a reassuring presence to any room, and Kate feels lucky to have her in her corner.

Makenna Bowers

Makenna is married to Brant’s brother, Braden, and together they’re raising two of the cutest ring bearers you’ll ever see, Townes and Benny (who also happens to be Kate and Brant’s godson). Kate met Makenna the weekend of Brant’s 21st birthday, and she’s been like family ever since. Makenna is creative, spontaneous, and always ready to bring an idea to life, especially if it involves decorating or celebrating. Her and Braden’s wedding is still talked about for how much fun it was, and Kate and Brant are doing their best to live up to that energy this weekend!

Natalie Freeman

Natalie is Brant’s first cousin and one of Kate’s closest friends since they met during her sophomore year. She has been a constant source of encouragement and joy ever since. Natalie somehow managed to foster a set of twins while working full time, which tells you everything you need to know about her heart and determination. She’s the kind of friend who shows up, gives without hesitation, and makes everyone feel loved. If you see Natalie and a tall cowboy with an Oregon accent at the wedding, make sure to wish the newlyweds a happy marriage!
