Things To Do

Within this list we are covering things local to the wedding, in and around Sheffield, as well as things further afield for those looking to explore the UK and Europe as part of their trip. If there's anything you are planning that isn't on this list that you want information about, reach out to Kate for help.
Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House

Bakewell, England DE45 1PP, United Kingdom

Built in 1687 and home to 17 generations of the Devonshire family, this is the perfect place to go and live out your Bridgerton dreams. The house is open to the public, as well as over 100 acres of beautiful gardens to explore, and a huge kids playground. This could be combined with a visit to the charming village of Bakewell too.

Peak District National Park

Peak District National Park

England, United Kingdom

Sheffield sits right on the edge of the Peak District National Park. There are lots of amazing walks and hikes with stunning views, and lots of little villages peppered between the hikes, perfect for grabbing a well earned pub lunch after your walks. If you do this on a Sunday, be sure to get a Sunday Roast Dinner.

York

York

York, England, United Kingdom

This medieval walled city, has a 2000 year old gothic cathedral (the spot where Brad proposed), as well as a shopping street; The Shambles, which dates back to the 13th century. You can walk the walls of the town, and go for Afternoon Tea at the world famous Bettys Tea Room. For those wanting to know more about the areas history, there is the York Dungeon experience, or Jorvic Viking Centre. York is around a two hour direct train journey from Sheffield and is well worth the trip.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh

Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom

Edinburgh is a beautiful and unique city with lots of things to do. There's a palace, a castle, and you can go shopping on the cobbled streets in the shadow of the castle. If you decide to take a trip to Edinburgh, reach out to Kate for recommendations of restaurants and other activities (like making your own tartan and leather satchel!). Edinburgh is around 4 hours on the train from Sheffield.

Lake District National Park

Lake District National Park

England, United Kingdom

The Lake District is a National Park with stunning views and scenery. There are a number of small market towns like Kendall, Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere. You can get to the Lakes via train from Sheffield in around four hours, or drive in around 2.5 hours.

London

London

London, England, United Kingdom

There's so much to do in London, and you can get to all of it via the tube. If you hustle you can get to Big Ben, the houses of parliament, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, all in a day. If you're spending a few days there, we recommend visiting some museums, you could also catch a West End Show, and visit areas like Hyde Park, Shoreditch, Borough Market, Oxford Street, Carnaby Street, and hit Liberty of London and Harrods for a special shopping trip. If you want some specific food / bar recommendations or more info on certain areas of London, Kate will be happy to help, just reach out directly.

Europe

Europe

For those of you heading out of the UK and into the rest of Europe, there are lots of options. Some low cost airlines to consider; Ryan Air and Easy Jet, these airlines both fly from Manchester and London, and can get you to France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Ireland and more. You can also get a ferry to Ireland and France, as well as the train to France from London (the Eurostar). Happy travels all! As always, if you want some specific tips and tricks once you know your plans, Kate will be happy to help.
