This is the only place to fly directly into for Charleston. Next closest airports are in Columbia and Myrtle Beach, SC or Savannah, GA which are all about 1.5-2 hours drive to Charleston.

There are 6 car rental companies that operate in the Charleston International Airport: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National. Other companies provide service to CHS passengers, but have rental counters at off-site locations and offer pick up services at the airport. Passengers using off-site companies must call for shuttle pick up. Shuttle stops are located on the center curb outside baggage claim.

Airport Taxis/Shuttles

Ground Transportation is available at Charleston International from early morning until after the last arriving flight each night. All ground transportation is located in the center median outside baggage claim. In addition to airport taxi and shuttle services, hotel shuttles, public transportation, off-site rental car shuttles and ride share pickup is located in front of the terminal. The Downtown Shuttle for downtown Charleston is $15 per passenger and departs within 15 minutes of request. The shuttle is a shared ride and may make other stops downtown, depending on the number of passengers. Taxi service within 6 miles of the airport is $15 minimum fare for two people. For three or more passengers a fee of $7 per passenger will be charged. All taxis are metered at $2.52 per mile up to two passengers. For three or more passengers a fee of $7 per passenger will be charged. All taxi and shuttles accept MasterCard, American Express, VISA and Discover credit cards.
