Jacob L. Loose Park
We went here on our first (official) date! We had an extravagant picnic by the pond where Tim asked me to be his girlfriend and then we walked around the Rose Garden.
The Kansas City Public Library: Central Library
This is where Tim proposed! If you go up to the second floor mezzanine, you'll find a bookshelf with the bust of Shakespeare carved into it. That's the exact spot.
Country Club Plaza
A beautiful, iconic Kansas City spot with tons of shops and restaurants. We've had plenty of date nights in this area. Some of our favorites spots in the Plaza are: The Monarch, Rye, Cooper's Hawk, Jack Stack, Kona Grill, and Topsy's Popcorn.
National WWI Museum and Memorial
This is an iconic Kansas City spot with a great view of Union Station and downtown. The museum is wonderful and you can even go to the top of the Liberty Memorial to get an even broader view of the city.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
This museum is an internationally recognized gem that we're lucky enough to have in Kansas City. Wander around inside the museum (a free excursion, aside from special, visiting collections) or, if it's nice enough outside, wander the grounds and see all of the outdoor art.
Union Station Kansas City
Not only is Union Station a rail hub with gorgeous architecture, but it also houses a variety of attractions and conveniences, such as restaurants, shops, a theater, and permanent and traveling exhibits. As an added bonus, Union Station is also a stop on the streetcar, which can easily take you to a few of the other places on this list!
Boulevard Brewing Tours & Recreation Center
Kansas City’s largest brewery offering great tours and great beers.
Double Shift Brewing Company
An excellent little brewery that has quickly become one of our favorites.

The best whiskey bar in Kansas City. (They make plenty of other great drinks as well, but their whiskey selection is incredible.)

Messenger has some of the best coffee and Ibis Bakery has some of the best baked goods in Kansas City.
The Roasterie Cafe
This coffee company is a piece of Kansas City's identity. They have flavorful coffee and were founded by a Rockhurst Alum.
