How We Met

2015: San Francisco

We met in San Francisco during rush hour. If you've ever tried to commute in the Bay Area, you know that timing is everything. The same goes for our story. Greg was waiting out rush hour traffic at Trad'r Sam's on Geary Street (he lived in Santa Rosa), and Kat and a coworker were enjoying happy hour at the same establishment (only because they were lucky enough to find parking). The way Greg tells the story, he said he saw Kat from across the room and couldn't take his eyes off her. Kat thought Greg was flirting with her coworker, but quickly learned he was actually trying to get to her. First, Greg left Kat with his business card and an offer to show her around Sonoma County if she ever wanted. He then left as traffic had thinned and it was time for him to go. Greg then proceeded to drive around the block (thinking how silly he was not to get her number), double parked in front of the bar (one of SF’s busiest streets), ran in and found Kat, and then asked her for her number and said he'd really like to see her again. How did dinner next weekend sound? The rest is history.

The Proposal

2019: Hawaii

Neither Greg or Kat had ever been to Hawaii and they had both been wanting to go. For Kat's birthday last year, Greg got them a trip to The Big Island in January. Greg had even bigger plans. The second night they were there, exactly four years to the date of the night they first met, he asked her to be his forever. In a beautiful garden overlooking the Pacific at sunset, Greg got down on one knee and asked Kat to marry him. Her response? "Duh! Of course!"

The Wedding

3/27/19: A Private Ceremony

Love is our greatest adventure, so why wait to begin? Kat and Greg didn't want to spend a lot of money on one single day where they wouldn't get a chance to even talk with half their guests. They wanted a special, intimate affair for their vows and then wanted smaller regional celebrations so nobody needs to travel too far and the couple would be more accessible to more of their loved ones. For them, it's not about the production of it all. It's about the relationships with friends and family and celebrating their love. So on a beautiful and rainy Northern California spring day in March, Greg and Kat jumped in a limo and jetted down to the Sacramento Courthouse and sealed the deal. Those loved ones in attendance were Bruce and Cyndi Davis (Kat's parents), Susan and Craig Bagley (Greg's parents), Sean, Olivia, and Carina Bagley (Greg's kids), Carolyn Davis (Kat's sister and maid of honor), and Robert Moxley (Greg's best friend and best man). Kat wore a yellow dress (never the traditional bride) and flowers in her hair, Greg wore his best suit. The small group then celebrated at a favorite Sacramento restaurant for lunch, and cruised around town taking photos and being merry. It was the perfect day.
