If you're in the mood for a little spending and sight-seeing, start at Allen's Boots and make your way down to the infamous "I love you so much" mural at Jo's Coffee. It's touristy stuff, but you're a tourist so you should do it.
We love to go out dancing. Ok, no we don't, in fact we never have, but some people sure seem to like it. This town has no shortage on honky tonks and some of the worlds best are right in our backyard. Head to Sagebrush, White Horse or The Broken Spoke for an evening of cliches. A bucket of Lonestars just taste better accompanied by an evening of scootin'
If visiting state capitols is your thing, we've got one right in the heart of downtown. Fun fact: It's the largest state capitol in the US (by square feet) and is even taller than the US Capitol (insert "everything's bigger in Texas" moto here)
While Conner and I still haven't done it, paddleboarding is huge in Austin (I promise I'll use my gift card soon, Simone!) There are plenty of places along Lady Bird Lake (the river that cuts through downtown) to rent paddleboards from. Cool down, soak in the city and test that balance of yours all in one go!
Lucky you. You'll be here during bat season! What's bat season you ask? Well, every evening from March to September you can witness an estimated 1.5 million bats fly out from under the Congress Bridge and disappear into the night. This happens right before sundown. Pro-tip: Don't stand on the bridge, make your way down to the grassy hill on the southeast corner of the bridge.
