Free! And serene!
Vulcan Park and Museum
Iconic city view and the obligatory Bham photo op. You can park here and also walk a beautiful trail (paved, flat) along the mountain ridge which is one of our favorite walks. They do charge for entry after 5pm but worth it to catch the sunset.
Birmingham Museum of Art
also free and lovely!
Rotary Trail Birmingham
Great walking path downtown that'll take you nearby many bars/restaurants/coffee shops

One of our favorite restaurants. Reservation recommended.
El Barrio
Banging Mexican fusion...no reservations allowed and always packed out. Go early!
EastWest
Another great spot to eat on 2nd Ave!
House of Found Objects
One of the most eclectic and funky cocktail bars you will ever go to. Collins Bar is also on 2nd Ave and The Margaret is on 1st not too far away.
Saturn
Great coffee here as well as just about every video game console and hundreds of board games ready to play...very fun stop for the whole family. Open late and turns to bar service around 4pm. Also a concert venue so it may be busy at night!
