how we met

Keith and Sarah met in middle school (the middle school where Keith now works), Wisconsin Hills. He will say Sarah was mean to him at first, but different sources have conflicting information. They became friends over the years and into high school - Keith would run to Sarah's house when she wasn't feeling well; Sarah would go watch his wrestling meets...but it wasn't official until junior year 3/10/2010. They graduated high school and didn't think about separating while Sarah went out of state for college, and once they were both back in Wisconsin in 2015, there was quite a bit of growing up to do. Sarah began working as a nurse in the Milwaukee area and Keith graduated in 2018 and began working in the Elmbrook School District as an educator and wrestling coach. From 2015 on, there were always new adventures - new homes/apartments/duplexes/condos for both Keith and Sarah, losses and additions to our families, vacations around the world, new jobs, a puppy named Winifred, and overall figuring a lot of life out together. One thing remained the same, and that was hilariously trying to navigate through life's struggles and enjoying the wonderful parts together as absolute best friends first, and a couple very much in love as a close second.

proposal

7/3/2021

This is from Sarah's perspective: FOR the record - I texted my sister, Anna, on Friday July 2nd at 6:21PM "Could be wrong - I think Keith is going to propose to me tomorrow, stay tuned". Keith proposed to me on 7/3/21 in Delafield at his parents' beautiful home right before the fireworks started over the lake. The 4th of July is my favorite holiday (one reason why I thought it would happen during fireworks). Earlier in the day he was super calm, he was cooking, laughing, not stressed at all, so then I started doubting that it would happen - perhaps I was projecting, but I thought he would be more high strung and stressed (no? just me?). Anyways, right as fireworks were about to start he asked where we should watch them. We decided to go watch them on the pontoon boat that was docked so we would be right under the fireworks - he went to go ask his nephew, Jayden, to watch our dog, Winnie, and when he came back we proceeded to the boat. We had barely stepped onto the pontoon when he dropped to one knee and asked me if I will marry him. (In my memory, I remember saying that things were moving too fast and I needed to think about it...Keith says I replied with something else, like 'are you sure?!' ...it's slightly a blur). Anyways, I said yes - there was cheering from strangers on the pier next to us, dancing with friends, shots of Jack Daniels, and lots of shaky and excited pictures of the beautiful ring on my finger. I had a dream that night i would take my ring off and eat it, so I keep it somewhere safe at night. Good job, Keith!
