Coming out in junior high is never easy—and for us, it was just the beginning of a journey that would span years, miles, and countless memories. We first met through mutual friends, the kind of middle school connections that start with shared lunch tables and weekend hangouts. As our friends began dating, we found ourselves spending more and more time together. Before we knew it, we were a couple—young, inseparable, and discovering that life felt fuller when we were side by side. We dated for about a year, growing into best friends who did everything together. But as life shifted, so did we. Differences pulled us in separate directions, and we each explored relationships with other people. Still, the bond never broke. For ten years, we stayed close—always checking in, always showing up for each other. When Kassie moved to Arizona, our friendship deepened even more. Maryea was a steady light during Kassie’s difficult relationship, and Kassie was there for Maryea through her own heartbreak. It became clear: we were each other’s constant, the person who never left. Then Kassie moved back to Wyoming—and everything clicked. We reconnected instantly, and it felt like the universe had finally aligned. We realized that it had always been us. Every relationship, every detour, every challenge was just a piece of the puzzle leading us back to each other. Since April 20, 2022, our lives have been filled with clarity, joy, and purpose. We are two in one—individuals with shared dreams, values, and aspirations. We lift each other up, challenge each other to grow, and envision a future built on love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, we are home. And together, we’ll keep building the life we’ve always dreamed of—because we’ve learned that we are, without a doubt, better together.
