From the City of Orange website: "Repeatedly voted Orange County’s favorite downtown, the streets of Old Towne Orange are lined with antique and collectibles dealers, specialty shops, art galleries, and restaurants. With its central Plaza Park, it has been the gathering place for Orange residents and visitors for more than a century. Old Towne Orange contains the largest Nationally Registered Historic District in California and its distinct look makes it a popular location for film and television production."
A spectacular Christmas display for the family. Be sure to get there early as it gets very busy. If walking is an option, there is a park nearby to park your car. Bundle up, there will be plenty of walking as most of the houses in this area decorate for the holidays. If a vehicle is your preferred method, the bride and groom recommend hitting up the local coffee shop first (for some salted caramel hot chocolate), turning up the Christmas music (KOST 103.5), and enjoying the beautiful Christmas display in the comfort and warmth of your own car.
"The beloved Southern California tradition recently named “Best Public Holiday Lights Display in the Nation” by USA Today creates a magical, Disneyland-like experience in the heart of Riverside and attracts more than 500,000 visitors from all over the world each year, commencing with the famous “Switch-On” Ceremony, a spectacular event in which the castle-like hotel is instantly illuminated with 5 million holiday lights followed by a full fireworks display. Highlights of Festival of Lights include 200 animated figures including angels, elves and Dickens carolers; appearances by Santa Claus, the world’s largest man-made mistletoe, horse-drawn carriage rides, elf tuck-ins, freshly fallen snow, elaborately decorated Christmas trees; and delectable holiday confections at the famous Casey’s Cupcakes, among other festive offerings."
Delicious, DELICIOUS all-you-can-eat-bbq. One of the bride and grooms favorite meals. There are plenty of Korean BBQ places to eat, this is one of the most well known. Order all the meat your heart desires, cook it up, and shove your face. Plus, all-you-can-eat banchan! Brides recommendation: KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) Grooms recommendation: Beef brisket and bulgogi
How could we begin to describe the amazing-ness that is Coco Ichibanya? If you like curry, we recommend trying Japanese curry. A spicy gravy served over rice with your choice of several meats and toppings. Brides recommendation: Medium, spicy level 1, with fried fish, extra curry Grooms recommendation: Large, spicy level 1 or 2, with beef or chicken cutlet Bride and Grooms recommendation: Order fries and a side of curry. DELICIOUS.
THE best Chicago style pizza around. **For the family from New York, yes, we realize this is blasphemous to you, but give it a try. It's SO good. If you can't get on board, don't worry, they have thin crust pizza too.
This location is about 40 minutes from Orange. But if you feel like a drive through the Inland Empire (IE as southern Californians call it), stop by Juanitas III. From the Groom: "The best Mexcian food you will ever put in your mouth." Honestly, this place is amazing. I (the bride) have dreams about their food. When Chris and I are in the area, we pick up food for everyone. Brides recommendations: Chicken nachos (no olives-GROSS, no jalapenos). Chicken tacos. Grooms recommendations: Shredded beef tacos. Chicken, rice, and cheese burrito. AND EXTRA SAUCE!! Trust us. Side note: They'll put sauce inside your burritos if you ask.
Located two hours from Orange, California, beautiful Old Town San Diego is great for shopping, dining, and entertainment. "It is the oldest settled area in San Diego and is the site of the first European settlement in present-day California."
