Bryan and Kassia owe it to a special person who deserves a shout out... thank you Janice! If it weren't for Janice, two 14-15 year old kids would have never added each other on social media. Who knew that 4 years later, they would start having an innocent conversation, which would inevitably lead to chatting, text messaging, video calling, and let's not forget about the monthly 500 km road trips (yes, that's the distance between Montreal and Scarborough).
After 9 years of being in a relationship with her true love, there is only one question that Kassia wanted Bryan to ask her. Bryan, in turn, had multiple outstanding occasions to propose to Kassia. But he decided that he didn't want Kassia to win so fast. Picture this: Kassia and Bryan are standing by the ocean in Mauritius. Love is in the air, the sun is shining brightly, his cousin is taking pictures of them. Does Bryan pop the question in that perfect moment ? Of course not. Ok, so how about this: Kassia and Bryan spend hours hiking up a mountain in Switzerland. They finally reach the top. They are filled with joy and excitement. They are surrounded by more mountains and pure beauty. Also, might I add that they are in the presence of their dear friend who is an amazing photographer. You must think that it for sure happened then, right? Negative. Sorry to disappoint you. Alright alright, so how about this: While on a trip to Rome, Italy, Bryan and Kassia spend their entire day visiting the city, walking for hours-on-end in the burning heat. They are tired. They are hungry-- or dare we say "hangry". Bryan decides that walking up a hill BEFORE supper is the best idea. He insists, despite Kassia being opposed to this idea. When she is hungry, she does not care for anything else other than food. But she gives in to him as always, so off they go. He takes her up the hill and once they reach the top, the view is just magnificent. Not to mention that the sun also happens to be softly setting. Bryan finally musters up the courage, goes down on one knee, and says: "Kass, will you marry me?". Let's just say that food did not matter to Kassia anymore in that moment. Oh, and for those who are wondering... No, nobody was there to take a picture of them this time. But regardless of the perfect photo that never happened, or the "hangriness" they were both feeling, in the end, it was all worth the wait.
