All of the requirements for base access are listed here: https://home.army.mil/jbmhh/my-fort/all-services/access-gate-info#qt0:11 Key “gotchas:" * You must have a REAL ID or equivalent (e.g., passport). * Your vehicle must have CURRENT registration. * You either need to request visitor's access in-person during their open hours when you first arrive OR submit an online request between 14 days and 3 days prior to the FIRST day of your visit (i.e., Friday 1/2/2026 if you are getting in the night before and staying on base). The easiest is online: Just remember you must submit your access request BETWEEN 12/21/2025 to 12/31/2025 (or 12/30/2025 if you will be there for the Rehearsal activities). To get a visitor’s pass online (easiest): 1. Go to this site: https://pass.aie.army.mil/jbmhh. Confirm if you are a citizen / proceed for a "Visitor Pass." 2. On the next page, fill out your personal / driver's license info. 3. On the 2nd page, enter your SSN, the date of the FIRST day you will need access to base & choose "Other" for the reason. 4. Within 72 hours you should get an email from noreply@pass.aie.army.mil with your approved pass attached. Print it or save the document on your phone. This gives you 24-hour access for the date requested. 5. When you arrive to the Fort Myer gate, they will scan the QR code from your pass. 6. If you need to be on base for more than 24hours, once you get through the gate check, head to the Visitor Control Center (right inside the gate - 29 Carpenter Road, Fort Myer, 22211), and they can extend your pass beyond the 24 hours. They are open M-F 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Sat 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. If there are issues and/or you need to extend the access, you may need to present a REAL ID or equivalent (State ID + Passport, etc.) the day of at the Visitor Control Center, so make sure you travel with it. Once you get your visitor's pass, you will be able to leave / re-enter base as needed for the day(s) you were approved.
Since our wedding will be a relatively small and meaningful gathering, we kindly ask you to RSVP as soon as possible. (We will update with a specific date once our invites go out!) If you find yourself unable to join us on this joyous occasion, we completely understand—life can be so unpredictable! However, knowing in advance will help us immensely, as it may allow us to extend an invitation to another cherished friend or family member. Thank you for being part of our lives and for your understanding. We truly cannot wait to celebrate the love and joy of this day, with you there in spirit or in person.
We love all of the kids and your lovely companions, but since we are keeping the wedding intimate, we are only able to accommodate the guests listed on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!
If you have other family / friends coming to the wedding, the easiest is to hitch a ride with one of them. If not, no worries! Make sure you mention that in your RSVP so we can help make sure there is a plan. We have recruited some friends that will have access to base, so they can come, meet you and drive you through the gate. Note: You will still need a visitor's pass!
