Father of the Bride
My Dad just retired after teaching alternative high school for 40 years in Spokane, tell him congrats! Dad is the one responsible for my love of the outdoors, incessant organization skills, and liberal leaning tendencies.
Father of the Groom
Roomie #1: Loves cats, kombucha, fly fishing guides, neighbors living close by, sobriety, and eating healthy food.
Mother of the Bride
My mom Christy just retired from working as a pharmacy tech after 40 long years, tell her congrats! These days you will find my mom doing all the paper crafts, experimenting in the kitchen, and cheering on the Zags.
Mother of the Groom
Roomie #2: Loves adoring her grandson Roman, taking Macie to read at Headstart, covfefe, pumping iron, and knitting super cute hats.
Maid of Honor
Harper and I have known each other since freshman year at Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane; after a fabulous interim summer together between grad school and entering the real world, we have become the closest (sister I never had) and continue to stay in touch, despite distance. Harper works as mental health counselor in Spokane, and with her husband Casey Booey (lawyer by day/wedding officiant by night), continue to be an inspirational couple for both Eric and myself. Also remember to congratulate her and Casey, they're expecting a little boy in August!
Best Man
Brother of the groom.
Bridesmaid
Not many people can say they have known someone since first grade, but Melissa has and continues to be a devoted and loving friend since our first days at Discovery School in Spokane. After some time apart, we thankfully reconnected when I moved to Seattle in 2013. Through many foodie dates, Beyonce concerts, and Seattle exploration, Melissa will forever be a friend and role model. Melissa currently works as a school psychologist for Issaquah school district and along with her husband, Matt Korch, recently welcomed baby Simon earlier this year!
Groomsman
Matt and Eric met at U-13 club soccer, Matt was sitting on a park bench and waiting for practice to start. That is all. Also Karyn loves Matt's wife, Angie, she is the best:)
Bridesmaid
Sarah and I lived together on Happy Hollow Blvd in Omaha during PT school. Considering the personal and academic hardships that come with grad school, Sarah was the amazing friend who always kept the best parts of life in focus; we spent so many moments together drinking wine, making dinner, and art parties (she also introduced me to goat cheese and for that I'm forever thankful). She doesn't know this, but Sarah really guided me through those few years; she helped to shape my being and the relationships I have today. Sarah works as a physical therapist in Kennewick, WA with her wonderful husband Kevin, and two little ones, Isabelle and Declan.
Groomsman
Joe B. gave Eric a hard time from the get-go. Growing up in Billings, Eric and Joe B. would play and entertain one another at family gatherings. Joe B. would always call Eric, "Baby Eric" and still does occasionally to this day. Joe B. and Eric reconnected in Seattle and quickly became close friends again.
Bridesmaid
Caitlyn and I also lived together on Happy Hollow Blvd in Omaha, and as a fellow pacific northwesterner Caitlyn was the best at reminding me of all the good things in life. With her phenomenal dancing and the best laugh, Caitlyn always brings joy to every gathering. Caitlyn is forever the perfect confidante with the most genuine love and attention for others. I'm thankful she will be up there with me celebrating our day. Caitlyn currently works as a physical therapist in Tri Cities, WA and lives with her boyfriend Brent (fellow Creighton classmate), and two kittens, Blue and Monkey.
Groomsman
Bond met Eric early in their first year of medical school. They quickly became friends by bonding over their mutual appreciation of a well-brewed beer, music, and winter sports. Eric convinced Bond to do his third year clerkships in Montana, for which Bond is forever grateful. As Bond said himself, "Montana is the greatest state in the country."
Bridesmaid
Bonded over living with Schultz boys...ENOUGH SAID! Vanessa is also the brilliant superwoman who works as a special education high school teacher in West Seattle, mother to Roman and Baby Boy Schultz (May 2018!), and is a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have her as a new sibling.
Groomsman
Cory and Eric met in their first year of medical school and quickly found mutual ground given their advanced age compared to their classmates. Cory and Eric would often wax philosophical late at night over beers. Cory and Eric spent plenty of time together during their weekend commutes between Yakima and Seattle on their way to visit their loved ones; occasionally these travels would turn into epic journeys through closed mountain passes and long detours. Cory loves good beer, impromptu dance parties with his wife Kate and kids Ewan and Zoe, and playing World of Warships in the physicians' lounge.
Provider of Cuteness
Roman is Joe and Vanessa Schultz's first born and he is the absolute sweetest. Excited to be aunti/uncle to this little one and have him present during this day.
Officiant
Casey and I met at the end of high school in Spokane, when he wooed my friend Harper towards later marriage. With many events and adventures in between, today Casey works as an attorney for CHAS and lives with Harper (and kitten Poutine) at their new house in Spokane. Can't think of a better person to help us deliver our vows.
Cat
Eric and I first found Puma as a kitten wandering the streets of Yakima, when he came to live with us at our Seattle apartment. Puma was the best roommate keeping me company while Eric was away at med school. He loves cuddling, meowing for fancy feast, adventures in sky diving, and terrorizing his sister Penelope.
Cat
Deciding that Puma needed a sibling, we adopted Penelope from PAWS animal shelter in Seattle. Penelope is a little more shy, but loves helping me with yoga poses and looking like a beautiful holstein cow.
