It was Tommy's annual B-Shift Christmas party that his Lieutenant Art and my friend Ashley convinced me to go to (as well as my best friend Michelle, my mother and really anyone and everyone I had spoken to prior). It started with a smile and ended with a long talk by the fire and numbers exchanged. Tommy swears he played hard to get and waited 2 days to message me. Turns out there is evidence that it was the very next day. After that, there were roof chills, healthy cooking that I had to get used to, and van adventures which I also had to get used to... One of us thought we were complete opposites and it could never work out, while the other could clearly see how alike we truly were. About 3 years later, with lots of memories, experiences and places explored we are finally tying the knot and that one person was 100% correct. Unfortunately, it was Tommy and not me. (I'll let him have this one..)

It all started with a morning hike up to a nice viewpoint in Lake Tahoe with some friends. There Tommy was walking like on a mission while I was just trying to act like I wasn't out of breath... When we finally got to the top I had to sit down to finally breathe. Then I hear Tommy ask if I wanted to take a picture. This was totally normal and so I thought nothing of it and climbed up onto the rock. While we smiled for Nick taking the picture, he mentioned how beautiful the view was. Tommy instantly responded with "you know what would make it even better??" that was when I responded with "you're not gonna, no, you're not..." Next thing I know, he is on his knee with the ring upside down. I never officially said yes, but he got the message and the rest is history.
