Airport information
Although you can get to Pender Island by ferry from both Vancouver (YVR) and Victoria (YYJ), we recommend coming through Victoria. The Victoria airport is a 10 minute cab ride away from the ferry terminal and the ferry comes quite often, only taking about 45 minutes to reach Pender Island. From the Vancouver airport you will have to get to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal (30-45 minute drive or hour transit) and the ferry will take about 2 hours to get to Pender Island with limited availability. https://www.bcferries.com

Pender Island being an Island means that ferries are involved. For those of you that don't have tons of experience with ferry schedules I have compiled the ferry times and prices to Pender from Vancouver and Victoria for a few days around the wedding that might be useful. If you are bringing a car it is important to book your ferry in advance, the summer is very busy. If you are walking on without a car it is recommended to be at the ferry terminal at least 30 minutes ahead, if you are bringing a car you must be there 45-90 minutes ahead with a reservation. Pender has quite a few private rentals for all sizes. I have made a map of Pender Island and where the various events and accommodations are for reference. Please note that when looking on these websites they typically give you listings within a radius and that could include listings from other nearby Islands (Mayne, Saturna, Salt Spring). Be sure that your listing is on Pender Island because the ferries in the evening are very limited.

For a more rustic adventure, Pender has four campgrounds. Port Browning has RV and drive in camping, Prior Centennial Park has drive in camping, Shingle bay has walk or kayak in camping, and Beaumont Marine Park has boat in camping.
