The New York State Department of Health strongly recommends that masks be worn in indoor settings where vaccination status of individuals is unknown to you. For the comfort and safety of guests, Glenora employees will be required to wear a mask. Vaccinated individuals are welcome to enter the winery, inn, and restaurant without a mask, per state and federal recommendation. Glenora asks that unvaccinated individuals continue to wear their masks while visiting, except when seated with their party. While Glenora will not require proof of vaccination, it is our hope that all visitors practice transparency in their visit.
Oh you know, the old fashioned way...on a dating app! Bumble to be exact. We both became classic millennial Seattleites, resorting to our phones to meet someone in June 2017. Shortly thereafter (within 2 weeks!), we found each other. In another classic Seattle move, Ken invited Karolyn to meet him at Fremont Brewing for our first date in person. We went on a couple more dates: watching fireworks on the 4th of July (where we coincidentally brought the same REI camp chair) and a bike ride to Gas Works park. Then Karolyn pulled out the big guns, inviting Ken to a Yankee game, just in time for his birthday! She was a Yankee fan, and Ken knew he had found a keeper!
How Ken envisioned it: During a romantic mid-week ski getaway. Ken designed 4 scenarios for the big moment. And Karolyn had a response to foil most of them… • Off the ski lift at the top of the mountain – This is a classic proposal. Unfortunately, there was no time for this, as Karolyn would quickly jump off and make her way toward the next run. • Master the fake fall and ask Karolyn for help – Ken sabotaged himself on this one. Karolyn would often wait mid run for Ken to catch up. Ken told her instead to just look back and make sure he was still alive. And then it happened…the perfect opportunity. Ken fell, losing a ski and landing face first (with the engagement ring in his chest pocket). Too frazzled about potentially damaging the ring and Karolyn out of sight, Ken put his ski back on and continued. • During lunch by the rustic outdoor fireplace – This should have been a layup. Ken asked Karolyn if she wanted to eat lunch at the fireplace they had discovered. She said eating our packed tuna fish sandwiches at the car as originally planned was just fine. • Kneeling at the bottom as Karolyn finished up a run – Ken suggested Karolyn exercise her expert ski skills and take a difficult black diamond run by herself while he stayed on the intermediate blues. Karolyn said no, she wanted to ski together the whole day. The actual proposal: As we went back to the car for lunch, Karolyn decided she wanted to eat and then leave. Nearly five hours of skiing was enough for the day. Ken realized he had one last shot before leaving the mountain. While Karolyn had her back turned taking off one ski boot, Ken popped the question in the muddy parking lot. Very romantic indeed. Don’t worry! We went back out and took pictures.
