Karolyn and Darius met online and had their first date on a rainy evening at Cafe Hidalgo in Fullerton California -- dining was still restricted to outdoors at the time and they sat under the courtyard overhang and dined. After their first date, they kept hanging out because they had so much fun and eventually their dates just ran together and never ended. Just about three years after that first date, on November 11, Darius surprised Karolyn with a proposal after a dinner date at Season's 52 (his favorite restaurant). She was completely surprised and thought he was having a medical emergency when he suddenly got on the floor in front of her-- little did she know, he had the proposal planned for several weeks. She said "yes" and now they're getting married in fall 2024.
