Napoli is located in one of the most beautiful bays in Italy and its historic city centre is the largest in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a wide range of culturally and historically significant sites. Naples is a vibrant and chaotic city, full of wonderful historical and artistic treasures and narrow, winding streets with small shops. It's here that you'll find the best pizza, pasta and espresso, its most appetising street markets, not to mention some of its most celebrated dishes. The food on these streets is all about intensity and pleasure. After all, life is too short for diets, so follow the locals' lead and succumb to your gluttonous whims. How to get there: We strongly recommend to go by train to Napoli central station.
For the adventurous, we recommend a day trip to Vesuvius National Park. Mount Vesuvius is the only active volcano on mainland Europe. It is best known because of the eruption in A.D. 79 that destroyed the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. But Vesuvius has erupted more than 50 times, last one in 1944, and it still represents a great danger to the cities that surround it, especially the busy metropolis of Naples. You can walk the suggestive path that leads up to the Gran Cono, an area from which it's possible to admire the beautiful coast, the sea and the immense province of Naples. To get to the crater you must first arrive at the Piazzale at an altitude of 1,000m where the itinerary begins. How to get there: From the central station Piazza Garibaldi in Napoli. take Circumvesuviana towards Sorrento or Poggiomarino via Pompei, and reach the station of Ercolano Scavi. From there, there is a bus service and taxis that lead to an altitude of 1,000m.
In the scenic view of Volcano Vesuvio you can visit ancient city of Pompeii. The ghostly ruins of ancient Pompeii (Pompei in Italian) make for one of the world's most engrossing archaeological experiences. Much of the site's value lies in the fact that the town wasn't simply blown away by Vesuvius in AD 79 but buried under a layer of lapilli. The result is a remarkably well-preserved slice of ancient life, where visitors can walk down Roman streets and snoop around millennia-old houses, temples, shops, cafes, amphitheatres and even a brothel. Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy, with approximately 2.5 million visitors annually. Perched on a hilltop set 365 meters above the sea, home to iconic cliffside gardens and far removed from the crowds that flock to the sea towns of Amalfi and Positano, Ravello is the hidden treasure of the Amalfi Coast. Its villas and vistas have enchanted visitors for centuries. Famous actors, authors, composers, and artists have come here for refuge and inspiration. Our special place where Giuseppe also got inspired and finally proposed with the astonishing view from the Infinity Terrace inside Villa Cimbrone. How to get there: - By bus from Salerno - By car
