Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! Please RSVP accordingly.

Question

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those listed on the invitation. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, due to space limitations, we can only accommodate little ones specifically listed on wedding invitations.

Question

Where should I stay for the wedding?

Answer

Please see the travel tab on this website. We have 3 rates available for booking at the Amway Grand Plaza, JW Marriott Grand Rapids and AC Marriott Grand Rapids. All guestrooms need to be booked by May 15th, 2026!

Question

How do you recommend getting around Grand Rapids?

Answer

Grand Rapids is a mid-size city. While Uber and Lyft are available, we recommend renting a car if you’re flying in. There’s so much to explore—like Lake Michigan—and having a car will make getting around much easier. Rental cars are typically most affordable when picked up and returned at the airport. Please note that most downtown Grand Rapids locations do require paid parking.

Question

What should we do when we are visiting Grand Rapids?

Answer

We always recommend visiting one of the Lake Michigan beaches—they’re the best. Our favorites are: Pere Marquette Beach (Muskegon): $10 parking on weekdays, $20 on weekends Grand Haven State Park: $9 parking Holland State Park: $9 parking All are about a 40-minute drive from downtown Grand Rapids and well worth the trip. If you’d rather stay closer to GR, some of our favorite spots are John Ball Zoo, Frederik Meijer Gardens, and the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Favorite Restaurants Butcher’s Union, Margaux, Gin Gin's, Donkey Taqueria and Condado’s. Favorite Places for a Drink IDC (located in the Amway Grand Plaza—ask the front desk for the special code 😉), AC Lounge, The B.O.B., Anchor Bar, and Lumber Baron. Grand Rapids is known as Beer City, and if you want to see why, check out City Built or New Holland. For entertainment, catch a comedy show at Nightwatch Lounge or The B.O.B. Looking for live music? See what’s in town at 20 Monroe Live, Van Andel Arena, or Acrisure Amphitheater. And finally—if you want to watch World Cup matches, head to SpeakEZ!

Question

Is there parking available onsite for the wedding festivities?

Answer

Yes—both valet and self-parking are available. We recommend parking in either the Amway Grand Plaza or JW Marriott Grand Rapids parking ramps, both of which are conveniently connected to the venue by skywalk. If you’re staying at one of our designated hotels, we suggest walking to and from the ceremony.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive by 4:45 PM—the ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 PM, and we don’t want you to miss it!

Question

What is the Dress Code?

Answer

See the Dress Code tab :)

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The entire wedding—including the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception—will take place indoors (Karly and John hate being hot!). No grass to navigate in heels 🎉 That said, the Amway Grand Plaza is quite large, so please plan for a bit of walking from the parking structure and/or your guestroom. This might impact your shoe choice!

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We kindly ask that you put away phones and cameras during the ceremony so you can be fully present in the moment with us. A professional photographer will be there to capture it all—so relax and enjoy! Other than the ceremony, yes! Please feel free to take as many photos and videos as you want!

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

Most definitely! Please enjoy drinks on us during cocktail hour and the reception—the hangover is on you 😉 And don’t forget to book your overnight accommodations! We want everyone to have a safe and fun time celebrating with us.

Question

Can I upload photos to social media?

Answer

Only if the bride and groom look good ;). But in all seriousness, we are okay with photos being posted.

Question

Do we have a wedding registry?

Answer

Yes, we do! We are only registered with Zola. Please see the registry tab here for details!
