A very important piece of history, this museum provides a great read that will pull at your heartstrings. Provide ample time as there is a lot to read if you want the full experience.
Smithsonian National Zoological Park
Come see the pandas.
National Museum of African American History and Culture
Another good one. Go before they take everything away.
Washington National Cathedral
The inside of this Cathedral is just stunning. Going to church here is another experience.
Great Falls Park
Beautiful waterfalls.
Old Town Alexandria Waterfront
Beautiful place to walk beside the water with lots of restaurants.
Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts
We saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows here with a live orchestra. Absolutely wonderful experience, however it is outside so it might be chilly and expect traffic in and out of the parking lot as it is very popular.
Stone Tower Winery
A cute winery we've been to several times with some good wine.
Leesburg Animal Park
This is a wonderful petting zoo where you can drive through or walk around feeding the animals. We had a wonderful time here :D
Luray Caverns
If you're willing to drive a bit. this is a wonderful day adventure and experience.
