We're getting married!

On July 27th, 2022, at 12 am, Karissa and Jason matched on Tinder, yes I know what you're probably thinking. Tinder? Really? Well, just you wait, the best is yet to come. At exactly 1:05 am, Jason messaged Karissa to make the first move. He said something funny that caught Karissa's eye so at 1:07 am, she replied to Jason. She couldn't get over how much this random boy made her laugh and smile in the minutes that they matched. While Jason was traveling back to Colorado Springs from Cheyenne Frontier Days the next day, they talked the entire drive for Jason. Later that night, Jason and Karissa facetimed for a total of five-six hours getting to know each other. During that phone call, Karissa and Jason realized they had many serendipities that tied them together. Jason lived on Scottsbluff Drive in Colorado Springs; Karissa is from Scottsbluff, NE. Jason also mentioned his past relatives were from Gering, NE which is Scottsbluff's sister city. Jason was born on February 27, and Karissa on December 27. Jason's middle name is James, Karissa's last name is James. Karissa and Jason each shared the same baby nursery theme with the same Winnie-the-Pooh first year book and baby blanket. One week after Karissa and Jason matched on Tinder, Karissa called Kali, her best friend, and said, "Kali I think I'm going to marry this boy. There's something about him, I can just feel it. Start writing your maid of honor speech. You're going to need it." When Karissa told her mother about Jason, Tina asked what was so special about this stranger she met on a dating app. She replied with, "Mom, he makes me smile." Karissa decided to drive down and meet Jason for the first time in the beautiful state of Colorado. Throughout the weekend that Karissa was visiting Jason, she got to meet Frank & Kim who are Jason's amazing parents, got see where Jason grew up, went on an adventure up to Pikes Peak, and on August 13th, 2022, said yes to being Jason's girlfriend. A short 8 months later, Jason and Karissa bought a house together, and Jason moved to Nebraska with his pup Oliver. Throughout their years of dating, they have both been on countless adventures together creating new core memories. They’ve traveled, gone to many hockey games showing their support for their favorite team (LETS GO AVS), made many pizzas & brownies, created a couple’s bucket list, shared dreams, shared their goals as individuals and as a couple, talked about what kind of parents they would be, got a kitten named Butters, and so much more. Then, on February 9, 2024, Jason popped the big question surrounded by their loved ones, everyone present was filled with joy as they celebrated their engagement. Karissa could not believe that she was going to be a Serrano. As she got to know Jason's family more & more, she realized that she was meant to be a Serrano. The Serrano family has welcomed Karissa with open arms, and she couldn't ask for better in-laws as they simply do not exist. Karissa and Jason are firm believers in the 'red string theory'. It states that everyone's pinky finger is tied to an invisible red string that will lead him or her to another person with whom they will make history with. Karissa and Jason were always meant to find each other. Jason and Karissa quickly realized they were each other’s 'forever & always'. Where there is love, there is life. Karissa and Jason would find each other in any lifetime, repeatedly. To think this all started with a simple swipe on Tinder is crazy. When you know, you know. And I guess Ferris Bueller was right when he said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
