Florence
Florence is an easy trip from Bologna. Take the fast train and you'll be there in less than an hour. It is a super walkable city with beautiful architecture, amazing food (Try their sandwiches at Pino's Sandwiches, l' Girone De' Ghiotti). They are also known for their Bistecca alla Fiorentina (beautiful, thick cut of meat). Let us know if you need any help buying the ticket for the train or have any questions about public transportation to and from the train station. We are planning a trip to Florence on June 17 or 18. You can join us or plan your own day trip.
Venice
Oh the beautiful and romantic gondolas of Venice. This is a quick day trip from Bologna by fast train or bus. We went to Venice for the Venetian Carnival, and it was very crowded. Beware that in the summer months, everything will be packed, but it's still worth it to go see if you have the time and patience.
Santuario Madonna di San Luca
Beautiful Sanctuary on the hill. Consider this a bit of a hike through beautiful porticos and frescoes. It is one of the highlights of the city and a must-see if you have the time and energy for it.
