FAQs

Question

Q: When is the wedding?

Answer

A: Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 5:30 PM in Cozumel, Mexico.

Question

Q: Where is the wedding and reception?

Answer

A: Both will take place at El Presidente InterContinental Cozumel. The ceremony will be on the beach, and the reception will follow in the adjacent palapa, an open-air space with no walls, just ocean breezes and gorgeous views.

Question

Q: What's the dress code?

Answer

A: Our celebration is Resort Chic...light, elegant, and beach wedding-ready. Think flowy dresses, jumpsuits, or skirts for women, and linen or lightweight suits, dress shirts, or polos with slacks for men. We advise going polished but relaxed, perfect for warm weather by the ocean. Aim for light, breathable fabrics that work for both the sandy ceremony and the open-air palapa reception. Keep it comfortable enough for the dance floor, and consider a light sweater or jacket in case the evening breeze cools things down. To complement the coastal setting, maybe lean into soft, coastal tones—such as dusty blues, navy, pale gold, or neutrals. But most importantly, wear what makes you feel comfortable and ready to celebrate with us!

Question

Q: What's the plan if it rains?

Answer

A: We have a covered backup location on-site so the celebration will go on rain or shine.

Question

Q: Can I bring my kids?

Answer

A: In this family? Of course (if you want that is!). The wedding is kid-friendly, and we’d love for your whole crew to join us.

Question

Q: Do I need a passport?

Answer

A: Yes. Mexico requires a valid passport for entry. Make sure yours isn’t expired—and give yourself time to renew if needed.

Question

Q: What airport should I fly into?

Answer

A: We highly reccomned flying into Cozumel International Airport (CZM) as it is the closest and most convenient. You can also fly into Cancun (CUN) and take a bus/ferry combo, but it's a much longer trip.

Question

Q: Do I need pesos?

Answer

A: U.S. dollars are accepted almost everywhere and ATMs are easy to find.

Question

Q: Will my phone work in Cozumel?

Answer

A: Most U.S. carriers work in Mexico, but check your international plan to avoid surprise charges. Wi-Fi is widely available at hotels if you want to stay connected (or unplug and blame it on “roaming”).

Question

Q: What’s the best way to get around Cozumel?

Answer

A: Taxis are easy and inexpensive. If you’re feeling adventurous, scooters and rental cars are available, but stay safe, the streets can get wild on a scooter!

Question

Q: Can I drink the tap water?

Answer

A: No. Stick to bottled or filtered water just to be safe. Resorts and restaurants are very careful, but your stomach will thank you for playing it cautious. (If you encounter Montezuma's revenge, we recommend a concoction of 1/3 Coke, 1/3 lime juice, 1/3 sparkling water.)

Question

Q: Can I stay somewhere else besides the hotel block?

Answer

A: Of course! The hotel block is just an option; feel free to book wherever works best for you. Cozumel has plenty of options across all price ranges, from boutique hotels to vacation rentals.

Question

Q: Will there be food options for special diets?

Answer

A: Yes. Please let us know your dietary needs when you RSVP and the chef will accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free requests. (Karina’s a vegetarian).

Question

Q: Is there a welcome event?

Answer

A: Yes! We’d love for everyone to join us at Le Cap Beach at El Presidente for a casual beachfront welcome reception. Enjoy dining by the ocean with a full taco bar, cocktails, beer, and soft drinks as we kick off the celebration together.

Question

Q: Is Cozumel safe?

Answer

A: Yes. Cozumel is considered one of the safest destinations in Mexico, especially in tourist areas. Like any popular vacation spot, petty theft can happen, so it’s smart to stay aware of your surroundings, keep valuables secure, and use trusted transportation (like hotel-arranged taxis). Cozumel has a strong local security presence, and the island takes traveler safety seriously. Bottom line: it’s a great place to relax, explore, and celebrate, just pack common sense with your swimsuit.

Question

Q: What’s the weather like in April?

Answer

A: April in Cozumel is warm, sunny, and humid, perfect beach wedding weather! Expect highs in the mid-80s°F (around 29°C) and lows in the mid-70s°F (about 24°C). Occasional light showers can pop up, but they usually pass quickly. Pack lightweight, breathable clothes and don’t forget reef-safe sunscreen and a swimsuit.

Question

Q: What else is there to do in Cozumel?

Answer

A: So much! Snorkeling, scuba diving, beach lounging, taco sampling, margarita sipping... we’ll share a list of our favorite spots on the “Things to Do” page.

Question

Q: What’s the tipping etiquette in Mexico?

Answer

A: Plan to tip 10–15% at restaurants (unless gratuity is included) and have small cash for hotel staff, taxi drivers, and excursion guides. U.S. dollars are fine for tipping. Diving wise, 10 per tank, per dive, per person.

Question

Q: Is there going to be diving?

Answer

A: Who do you think we are? Group Diving is being arranged through Scuba Du. They are based out of El Presidente but can pick up at most hotel piers. Karen and Karina are coordinating diving, so please shoot them a message for further details and rates.

Question

Q: Is Diving Rental Equipment Available?

Answer

A: Yes. Contact Karen or Karina.
