While visiting a friend in Chicago prior to a work event the following week, Kari was lounging around, watching the first NFL game of the season and decided to check out the Jewish online dating scene in Chicago. Although one man caught her eye with his clever pick-up line, she eventually got bored with the app and moved along with her regularly scheduled week. Fast forward to Tuesday night after a successful event and celebratory drinks, Kari and her boss (Bryan) celebrated a successful event and decided to engage in some fun banter with the clever J-Swipe man. On the other side of Chicago, Mitch had just returned from a bad date and decided to play into "Kari's" flirty texts. One thing led to another and next thing they knew, Mitch had arrived at LondonHouse in downtown Chicago to meet Kari for a drink at the bar, by Bryan's invitation (unbeknownst to Mitch). Two [overpriced] cocktails and one easy conversation later, Kari and Mitch saw a clear connection but knew that neither wanted to get involved in a long distance relationship... until the next day when Mitch texted Kari about how much fun he had. Too-many-hours-to-count on FaceTime, several trips back-and-forth between Chicago and DC and 9 months of long distance later, Kari and Mitch knew that it was only a matter of time before they started planning the rest of their lives together. After all, they do finish each other's........ sandwiches!
