We are getting married

Steven and I first met in our active addiction 1999. Let’s just say that neither of us were living our “best” lives and both married to other people, living our lives separately. It was a short-lived time of being acquaintances and after many more years of addiction and unfortunate events, GOD led us to Narcotics Anonymous and our paths were crossed once again in 2014. Our relationship started on July 4th of 2014 at the children’s discovery museum watching fireworks celebrating Independence Day. We were both very early in our recovery, with just a few months and had absolutely nothing. Neither one of us had jobs, taking public transportation, living in sober living homes. Our first dates were meeting up on the bus, using our food stamps to buy lunch and finding a park. We would lay on a blanket under a tree and talk about absolutely everything while having a picnic. Neither of us cared that the other didn’t have anything, because together we had it all. We both were offered manager positions for men and women’s homes. He was in Gilroy, and I was in San Jose. Our relationship was strong, and our recovery was stronger! We started to build this beautiful life by keeping our focus on our loving higher power who begin to open doors for us. After 4 years into our relationship, we moved into our first apartment in 2018. Celebrating our first Christmas in our own home was such a blessing! We moved into our house in the beginning of 2020 during COVID. We have 3 grown children that Steven has fulfilled the roll of a father, 3 beautiful grandsons, GOD children and a life we have always prayed for. We are blessed with LOVE, a beautiful life, a beautiful family, friends that have become family and a LOVE STORY that is OURS. We owe this all to our loving GOD and Narcotics Anonymous. We cannot wait to share our day with all of you.
