Getting To and From NYC
The closest train station to the La Quinta Hotel is "Carle Place" on the Long Island Rail Road. The train ride to and from NYC is about 45-50 minutes. From the train station to the hotel is not walkable but is a 10 min taxi/car ride. To get into NYC take the train to "Penn Station". I've shared a link to the train schedule. On Friday there are trains into the city "Penn Station" at 8:15am, 8:30am, 9:23am, and 10:45am. The train times returning from the city "Penn Station" to "Carle Place" are 12:42pm, 1:33pm, 2:26pm, and 2:51pm. On Saturday the trains into the city run on the hour (8am, 9am, 10am, etc.) leaving from Carle Place and return once an hour on the :54 (for example, 12:54pm, 1:54pm, 2:54pm). Warning these train run on schedule so if you miss the train on Saturday there is a 1 hour wait for the next train. Once in the city "Penn Station" is walking distance to the new hot spot in the city which is called Hudson Yards.
