They are both at the same venue: Blue Venado, GRC4+38, Carretera federal KM 269, 77735 Paa Mul, Q.R., Mexico
There are only 20 parking spaces at the wedding venue. All spaces are reserved for the shuttles. If you are unable to take the shuttle, please inform Kareena or Alden before 21Dec2024 to manage parking allocation and coordination with Venue gate security.
A bit of both. The ceremony and cocktail hour are outdoors on compact sand. Dinner and dancing are partially indoors under a tent open on all four sides.
There will be a cocktail hour right after the ceremony. It will be about an hour during which light bites will be served. Alden and Kareena will be taking some pictures during this time.
Beach Semi-Formal or Cocktail Attire. The ceremony and cocktail hour are in the sand, so we suggest you wear footwear that you feel is comfortable to walk in the sand.
Nope! Wear what is comfortable to you!
Please indicate dietary restrictions/allergies in your RSVP response. If you prefer reaching out to us directly, please do so as early as possible so we can work things out with our caterer.
Lights out at the venue at 12AM. The Bride is usually asleep by 9PM (okay, okay, 8:30PM). There will not be an afterparty.
Because your presence is the only present we wish to receive, there will be no gift registry. Please bring only your company, appetite and dance shoes to the wedding :) If you are insistent on a gift, please reach out directly to Alden or Kareena.
Feel free to lather on the sunscreen, bring a hat, a pair of sunglasses, a hand fan or an umbrella. Shoes that don't sink in the sand and are comfy for dancing also highly recommended.
Highs are usually in the low to mid 80s with the lows in the low 70s. All temperatures in Fahrenheit.
Of course! Check out our "Things To Do" tab. If you have a specific question not answered there, feel free to reach out to Kareena or Alden.
All of our guests are invited to join us for a welcome cocktail party on the 20th of December. We also booked a 30-person trip to Chichen Itza on 24th of December. If you are interested in joining, please let Alden or Kareena know. See "Schedule" tab for details.
There is, but it is terrible, so would not recommend relying on it. Read FAQ on "How can I get connectivity in Mexico" for more information.
Recommendation: Data-only services (no cellular call and text but you can use WhatsApp, Skype, Google Maps and any sites that consume data): We used Airalo when we traveled to Spain and really liked it. You want to first confirm that your phone is eSIM compatible. eSIMs are electronic and not a physical SIM card so you just purchase them online from the Airalo website or app and install them on your phone. The Airalo app detects the kind of phone you have and provides installation instructions accordingly. eSIMs typically range from $7-$50 depending on the type of data plan you select. If you run out of data, you can top off directly from the app. For reference, for our 10 day trip to Spain, I used about 8GB, mostly for Google Maps to get around. List of phones which are eSIM compatible: https://esim.holafly.com/how-to/esim-phones/ Mexico only eSIM: https://www.airalo.com/mexico-esim Mexico, US and Canada Regional eSIM: https://www.airalo.com/north-america-esim Tip: Airalo has $3 discount codes for referrals. Feel free to use one of our codes 'KAREEN1251' or 'ADD' to get $3 off. Or create your account and share your codes with your family/friends. Other options: If you really need to be able to make local calls and texts, you can purchase a prepaid SIM card at Cancun Airport or at most OXXO convenience stores. They range from $15-$70 depending on the type of call-text-data plan you select. Telcel is the most popular provider with AT&T and Movistar as other options.
The US and Mexico share the same Type A/B plug point. If you are travelling with a US charging device, they will work without a travel adapter. If you are travelling with non-US charging device, you will need to carry a travel adapter.
Most places in the Playa Del Carmen area accept USD/credit cards. We often carry a stack of $1 notes as they come handy for tips in the resort/bars/restaurants.
