We met on Kara's first day of work with the City of San Jose Planning Department, where Robert was already employed. Robert may or may not have given a hostile first impression, which he thankfully was able to overcome with witty banter, workplace shenanigans, and sharing his homemade meals. Through happy hours at the local karaoke bar, lunches with our coworkers, and our twice daily walks on break we evolved from coworkers to close friends to more!

On my 27th birthday Robert surprised me with a vacation to a resort in Big Sur, California. Shortly after check-in I could tell that Robert seemed nervous. Assuming that his nerves must have been from the cost of the resort, I had no idea what was to come next. Robert had arranged a lunchtime picnic near the coast, where he proposed with the most beautiful ring. Once down on one knee, our dog, Robyn, assumed the proposal was for her and rushed into his arms. Although my spotlight was stolen by Robyn, I said yes and here we are now getting ready to celebrate! We can't wait to be with you on our special day and are both so thankful for the joy and support that those in our lives bring to us and our relationship.
