On August 29, 2010, Conor sat next to me at Champlain College orientation. Little did I know that the poofy haired, flannel-wearing, tall kid next to me would become my husband exactly 10 years later. I was on my own for the first time in my life and I was not at all looking for a relationship. Conor was persistent. Each day he would bring me a buttered everything bagel to class because he knew I would skip breakfast to sleep longer. He quickly became friends with my friends/roommates everyone loved him. Still, I refused to date him. After weeks of courting, I finally agreed to a first date. On September 29, 2010, he brought me to Sweet Waters. We quickly realized we were both too picky for the menu and embarrassingly ordered extremely plain dishes. Back at the dorms, we played games with our friends all night. Nine years later Conor asked me to be his wife. After that first date, I knew I wanted to spend forever with him. The rest is history! Since that first date, we've lived in 5 apartments together, adopted 2 perfect furbabies together, and recently bought a house together. My guestimation is that we've said "I love you" at least 30 billion times. That he's made me giggle, snort, and laugh about 4x that. He is my person, my teammate, and soon my husband. And that rocks harder than anything else.
