We met at an old country, western bar in Oklahoma City, OK. We always thought that people exaggerated when they talked about "love at first sight,” but it does exist - specifically, it existed for us. We knew that night that something special was happening - there were no forced laughs or awkward silences; we just clicked. Throughout the coming months, we grew closer as we worked to know one another better - the good, bad, and ugly. To say that there weren't trials would be a lie, but we overcame each that were presented to us and grew stronger because of them. We committed to growing in love, faith, and family...and we did just that. We now have Christ-centered, mission driven hearts that are ready to be tied together in marriage. We could not be more excited to share this day with our loved ones, and we hope you are too!
Hard work paid off in October of 2018 when we won an all-inclusive vacation to Cancun, Mexico from Kara's organization. Little did I know, Kara had more than a little surprise up her sleeve. After going through all obstacles to successfully hide a ring box in her socks to get through customs, we made it to our resort. While looking out into the ocean from our balcony at sunset, Kara held me in her arms reminding me of how much we have grown together. She recapped our journey of faith, and the shared importance of God being our Number One, and spouses being Number Two. Kara stepped away, causing me to turn around - at that moment, I saw my love down on one knee, ring in hand, asking me to be her Number Two for the rest of our lives. It wasn't even a question - of course, I said YES...after I said, "You're cute." Come on, people... I was nervous! :)
