Where do I even begin with my one and only sister… People often say we look like twins, though we’ve never quite seen it ourselves. Just two years apart, she has been both my little sister and, at times, my big sister, always my forever best friend. Those who know us well understand just how close we are. Endless text messages even when our rooms were right next to each other, phone calls whenever we were apart, and countless late-night talks, she is truly the best gift my parents ever gave me. Having lived together for so many years, it’s hard to imagine life apart. She is the one I can always turn to, the one who understands me without explanation, especially in my lowest moments. I am deeply honored to have her stand by my side as my Maid of Honor, and endlessly proud to call her my sister.

-The Strong One- My younger brother who always have my back no matter what… literally what else is there to say? Of course with brothers we’ve had our fair share of disagreements and fights but we would always settle it on the same day. I know he’s always there for me and for that I thank God for giving me a brother like Brian.

When I was in college, I joined a sorority and had the joy of picking up a little, and to this day, I still call her “Little” more than her actual name. She is one of the most giving people I know, always showering me with love, care, and help. Though she’s a goofy girl who never fails to make me laugh, once you get to know her, you realize she is also the sweetest soul. As her big, I sometimes feel I wasn’t there for her as much as I should have been, yet she has always been patient with me and by my side, and I’m endlessly grateful for her. She’s a bride in 2025, and I was so thankful to be her bridesmaid and celebrate her big day! Now, while I’ve been in the whirlwind of planning my own wedding, she’s been there with advice, resources, and so much support. Thank you, Little! I’m beyond happy to have you by my side to celebrate my big day, too!

-The Funny One- I met Jon through church and my earliest memory of him was when he chased me around the church becuase of a mean name I called him. Funny thing is throughout time we eventually became close enough for me to call him my best friend. We were always there for each other even in our lowest of lows. Another thing I love about Jon is he is always there to challenge me intellectually. Its always a pleasure talking with him.

She is my first close Korean-American girlfriend, and though it was hard for me to open up at first, she made our friendship feel effortless. I will never forget the lowest point in my life, when Deb was there to share my tears and offer words of encouragement. That was the moment I knew she was someone I could truly be myself with. The more time we spent together, the more I discovered her sweetness. Our conversations often turn into endless laughter, and I knew I wanted her as a friend for life. I am thankful every day for her friendship, for the joy she brings, and for being such an important part of our friend group. I am truly honored to have Deb by my side on my special day.

-The Clever One- I met Alex in my high school years at a church event. He complimented my hair style and I thought that was very kind of him, until he mentioned it every time we see each other. “Chris, you know your hair is what mine inspires to be.” Wasn’t long before I realized he was just teasing me and it cracked me up! We got closer in college as well as working at the same beauty supply store and thats when I got to know how genuine and kind hearted he really was. He wasn’t afraid to critque me or tell me things I might not neccesarily want to hear but his honesty is exactly why Alex is one of my closest friends. If you’re new to Charlotte you can count on Alex to recommend you the best spots in town.

Sarah is a friend who makes me laugh every time we talk. Her energy, humor, and even her laugh bring me joy and lift my spirits in ways I will always cherish. Whenever I say something out of pocket, she patiently plays along and jokes back, how could I not love her?! She also has an endearing way of getting emotional over everything, and because of that, beyond being a jokester, I can have deep conversations with her and truly be myself. Sarah has always been there for me, and I want to be there for her just the same. I’m so thankful our paths crossed, and I couldn’t be happier to have her by my side as I say “I do.”

-The Handsome One- I met this good looking guy in college and we got closer through our Vietnamese Student Association. A very kind and gentle hearted soul who rarely raises his voice… unless he’s offering shots haha. After college we stayed in touch and we would always hang; whether it was on the dance floor, a bar, or discord. A reliable guy not just to me, but also his family and friends as well. Love my soon-to-be brother in law ;) (He’s engaged to my fiance’s sister!)
