Transportation Resources

Construction detour: U.S. 285, one of the primary routes between Denver and Salida, will have a detour between Antero Junction and Fairplay. Drivers will need to use alternate routes, such as State Highway 9 and U.S. 24, which only add about 9 minutes. More info is available on the Colorado Department of Transportation website: https://www.codot.gov/news/2021/july-2021/us285-south-platte-bridge-work-begins Salida is approximately 3 hours from Denver International Airport, and about 2 hours from the Colorado Springs Airport. Less expensive flights and car rentals can sometimes be found in Colorado Springs. Bus: Amtrak and Bustang provide round-trip transportation between Denver Union Station and Salida for approximately $60. On Amtrak.com, look for round trip options between Denver and Salida, or search the Bustang website for the "Outrider - Gunnison/Denver" option.
