Where should I stay?

Answer

Close family is staying at The Landing with the Bride and Groom. We have provided a list of recommendations for lodging nearby but you are welcome to choose something else, such as an Airbnb or VRBO. We will be providing transportation after the ceremony to the downtown area, and unfortunately, the trolley will only be able to provide transportation to those lodging options close to The Landing. Also though our wedding will be an adults-only affair - if you would like to bring your family/kids along to Colorado, please do. We can look into childcare options if needed.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Summer in the mountains is typically warm to hot (70°-80°F) during the day, and the sun tends to be strong. At night (or in the case of inclement weather) temperatures can drop about 20 degrees into the 50s. We recommend that you bring sunscreen, plan to dress in layers, and make sure you have a light jacket for the evenings!

How do I get to Estes Park?

Answer

The easiest and most flexible option will be to rent a car, but there is also a shuttle operated by Estes Park Trolley that provides transportation directly to Estes Park - use code EG2024 for a 10%. Uber and Lyft are not available in Estes Park. https://www.estesparkshuttle.com/reservations

What's the best way to get around Estes Park?

Uber and Lyft are not available in Estes Park. If your not renting a car there is a shuttle that you can use to get around town. The nearest stop from The Landing is .3 mile at Rockmount cottages. https://www.visitestespark.com/plan/getting-around/free-shuttle-buses/

What about the altitude?!

Answer

The altitude at Estes Park is 7,522’ - just a bit higher than sea level! Make sure you stay hydrated and if you have experienced altitude sickness in the past, you may want to pack ibuprofen and electrolytes!

What do I need for Rocky Mountain National Park?

Answer

To visit RMNP you will need two things: 1) A National Park Annual Pass or a Day Pass (these can both be purchased at the park entry gate so no need to plan ahead for this one) AND 2) A timed entry reservation. This you DO need to plan ahead for. July is historically the park's busiest month, so you will want to jump on this! Timed entry reservations for July will be released on June 1st at 8AM MST (10AM EST). You can get your timed entry pass here - https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10086910 If you are going to do Bear Lake Road (recommended and required for our hike on Friday morning) make sure you get the permit that includes Bear Lake Road. Information on park fees and passes can be found here - https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/fees.htm Make sure you pack some clothes and shoes for hiking/walking and bring a bottle for water.

Will I see wildlife?

If you visit Rocky Mountain Park it is very possible you will see some wildlife. Remember to keep a safe distance!

Answer

Nope. We don’t need more stuff because we don’t have anywhere to put it! 🤪 We have a Honeymoon fund and a home improvement fund here on Zola. Feel free to bring a card and any cash/checks/gift cards to our reception if you would like! And, if you are so inclined, we would also love you to sign a copy of your favorite book with handwritten note for us so we can add your wisdom to our library!
