Maid of Honor
My O.G. partner in crime. We've been through so much over the course of 20 years, and I can't think of anyone else I'd have rather gone through it with! There's so many inside jokes, moments of breaking out into song, quoting lines from our favorite movies, sister dates, photoshoots and spilling more tea than they did in Boston, and I am grateful. You are a true friend and it's that much sweeter that I get to call you my sister as well.
Best Man
There is no better friend than one who can make you laugh and talk for hours and hours. James and I met in college with vastly different approaches to the same thing, Audio. He had the leg up on me in experience and knowledge and did not hesitate to come along side me and give as much as I wanted to learn. We have been roommates, housemates, and long time friends that have grown into a brotherhood. Him loving his wife Ce'Nedra has showed me better ways to love Kam. I would not be who I am without his being there along the way.
Maid of Honor
The youngest of the Malenius sisters, she is a strong and caring individual. It has been such a joy to see her grow into the young lady she is today. Our car talks (rants) and occasional coffee runs are memories that I cherish and think of fondly. I'm thankful to have a sister that will put up with my constant sleeping pranks and videos! Most of all I can't think of anyone else who delivers such honest, yet humorous one liners with no conviction, and I say this in the best way possible. Thank you be a great example of just being yourself.
Groomsman
My second oldest brother. The brother who never minds putting in a good word for me, affirming and contributing to my creative endeavors, and always being down for whatever. He showed me what good Indian food is and the value of seeing people no matter who they are or where they've been. Sometimes the impact Spencer has in my life is hard to put into words. Just know that if there were more Spencers in the world, it a lot of good would happen.
Bridesmaid
We met in college our freshman year... and the rest was history! As roommates for the last two years of college we shared many a good laughs, adventures here and there, a few good cries and many puns. To this day our main form of communication is wacky, weird and just down right cool memes and videos. And even more recently she's come to my aid and been the very best photographer's assistant!
Groomsman
The youngest of my older brothers. Mack is the steady example of a patient, intelligent and quietly witty one that everyone needs in their life. No one is more willing to do things for others even if its out of the way. Mack has continued to remind us of what our dad has modeled. Willing to sit and listen, keeping a cool head, and do the right thing. Mack has always looked for the best ideas and do things a new way. He'd try just about anything, except fruit. Sometimes a middle child can get overlooked but this one I value every time I get to see him. Memory after memory, adventure after adventure.
Bridesmaid
Where to even begin?! We met and lived on the same floor freshman year or college and have been close friends ever since. She's country mouse and I'm city mouse. From annual trips to Open House Chicago, to celebrating birthdays in Geneva and many hours in studio we've been through a lot. She is steadfast and true, and the very best friend a girl could ask for.
Groomsman
Dave is the trail blazer. He stuck with the Colts even when we moved to Viking territory and I can't thank him enough for that. He showed me what it is to be loyal and devoted to your family and still have your own hobbies and fun. He sparked my love for hockey on ice, and on carpet. Dave showed me doing AV can be just as fun and cool as being a musician. He showed me what it is to do what you're passionate about even if it's not the big bucks. He's the most steadfast and dedicated. He's the reason I can be from Minnesota and still say, 'For the Shoe!'
Bridesmaid
Initially intimidated by her exuberant and very friendly personality, we became friends through Carter. Ever since then she's been the most supportive and caring friend anyone could ask for. We've been able to share in our mutual loves for coffee, harry potter, doggos and teen coming-of-age books. Over the past few year she's been someone that I can trust and lean on through the many seasons of life and I couldn't be more grateful for her and the positive impact she's had on my life.
Groomsman
Ben is an amazing cousin. He's a brilliant mind, amazingly talented, a devoted hard worker, and absurdly witty. Ben has helped me keep my love for board games and card games. He is my favorite example of practice makes excellent, a go and get it kind of guy. Most importantly, being cousins with Ben, going to school with him, has shown me how invaluable it is for me to slow down and be present, aware, and willing to be there for the people around me when they need me. I would not be as prepared to be a patient, caring husband to Kam without Ben to give me pointers and help along the way.
Officiant
Ethan, King of Judson, Founder of Grow, Peaker of Mics. My friendship with Ethan sprouted when he got to knight 'Carter the Squire' in a murder mystery party. We served on worship teams together traveling to Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia and Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Wisconsin 3 times, and now Colorado. There are very few things that Ethan and I do not have in common or will at least continue a conversation topic of. There are people that you can't really put a finger on why you're such good friends, Ethan is one of those guys. We have an unexplained connection and care for each other. I didn't know it at the time, but when Ethan knighted me, he teared up out of pride. That's the kind of guy Ethan is. He takes joy in people even if he doesn't know them.
