True love is the greatest adventure!

On Monday, November 28, 2022, we exchanged pleasantries over a few minutes via the BLK dating app. That same night we met over FaceTime and conversation flowed effortlessly for a few hours. Both of us ended the night feeling hopeful that “maybe, this is the one.” We officially started dating December 11, 2022. We sometimes reflect back in awe at how crazy it is that we were two strangers who took a chance at love through an app! I (Kamilah) was seconds away from deleting my profile until I saw Robert’s. At that point, his photos and bio had me intrigued & soon I’d find out he was my answered prayer. And I (Robert) wouldn’t have had a profile to begin with if it weren’t for my friends making the suggestion and setting it up for me. While I preferred traditional approaches, I’m glad I was open minded. It didn’t take me long to confidently know that Kamilah is exactly who I was looking for. We’re blessed to have found each other.

On Monday, September 4, 2023, our families like most, gathered for a Labor Day BBQ. Robert lead us in prayer to bless the food so we could throw down. As he was praying he not only blessed the food but thanked God for allowing us to meet. Surrounded by family, Robert thoughtfully expressed his love and admiration, made his private promises public, and got down on his knee. The answer was easy; YES! And now, we start the beginning of our happily ever after.
