"Kalynn and I met when we were very young. Some time around 4th grade, we did a youth bible study program called AWANA together, had a few sleep overs, and also did the homeschool end of the year testing together. We both did Social in Augusta when she was partners with Ian. We went to the same high school after that. We have always been friends, but to my surprise we became even closer in our college and grad school days. We’ve been through so many things in life together thanks to Kalynn’s amazing ability to have long distance friendship. She is the only person I don’t mind talking on the phone with. I am so thankful to have her in my life so far, and in the seasons to come as well."

"Kalynn and I met during Spanish class my first semester in college and were involved in Campus Outreach together. She showed me kindness and friendship during a difficult and transitional time in my life and we've been friends ever since. We bonded over our mutual love of Jesus, Spanish, swimming and vegetables. We have travelled a lot together and this past year and a half have became even closer by living together. I consider Kalynn to be a loyal, trustworthy, and determined person and know she will make a great wife as evidenced by her exceptional friendship."

I met Kalynn on my first day at Crossroads church in WV while we were in grad school. The next time I saw her was at a game night a couple weeks later, where we discovered we shared a brain ;) Seriously though, we both jump around a lot in our speech and in our thoughts (which are often out loud anyway), and we often find ourselves jumping to the same place. In Morgantown, we quickly bonded over our love for the Lord, for the nations (especially the Spanish-speaking ones), and for all kinds of nerdy things from board games to random scientific facts. Although, I have to say, Kalynn was doing most of the scientific reading and just sharing her findings with me. I'm so excited for her and Ian as they start this next chapter of their lives, and I'm so honored that I get to be a part of it.

There are few things that can create an instant bond of friendship. Finding out that this person you just met has also worked at Chick-fil-A is one. (Probably because you know it will always be a pleasure to spend time with them.) Another is being easily excited over small things, like working at Chick-fil-A. Kalynn and I share both. I met Kalynn at Crossroads church in Morgantown, WV while we were both In grad school, in extremely different programs. We attended the same church & small group for the next two years. It seemed to be pretty clear pretty quickly that if we were together we were going to have a good time, which really wasn’t that often since we were both buried in schoolwork. We did manage to find the time for a few lunches and shopping adventures. We also had a blast at all of Kalynn’s MSIR formals, which became our standing date at the end of each semester. Since graduating and moving to different states we have managed to stay in touch via lots and lots and lots of phone calls. Thank the Lord we all have unlimited calling.

Kalynn and I met in Campus Outreach and started talking one night after prayer. Our friendship really developed during a difficult time in Kalynn’s life with her surgery and recovery. After college, most of our relationship has been via phone, and we are able to talk about anything under the sun. We have been able to help each other through our ups and downs. I am so excited that God has blessed her with a wonderful man in her life and I am so glad that I am able to witness this up and coming union. I pray for both of their happiness and that God will bless their marriage.
