Located in the heart of the city, this historic stadium is one of our favorite spots in Portland. It’s a beautiful venue with an incredible atmosphere, and we’ve loved watching the Timbers and Thorns play here. While Mathew will always be a Kansas City sports fan, even he admits the live energy here is hard to beat. If you want to experience a match, we recommend checking the schedules after the New Year to see if the Thorns or Timbers are playing at home while you’re in town.
This historic gem is one of the few cinemas left in the country that still projects 70mm film. Kalli and I saw Oppenheimer here in 70mm, and the experience was unforgettable. We highly recommend checking their schedule for a night out. Whether it's a cult classic or a rare 70mm screening, you can't go wrong!

According to the National Park Service, Crater Lake is one of the snowiest inhabited places in the USA. While the national park is open year round, April is still considered part of their winter season. Operating hours for many of the facilities and services change depending on the season, and many roads and trails do not open after the winter season until May, June, or even July! If you're planning to visit Crater Lake National Park (five hour drive from Portland) contact the park and be sure to research what facilities and services will be available.
