Cocktail attire is suggested. Above all, please wear what makes you feel comfortable and ready to celebrate.
Jeju has a very small parking lot that cannot accommodate all guests. Expect to utilize street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Please allow enough time to secure a parking spot and walk to the venue before the ceremony begins at 4:00 PM.
4:00 PM: Ceremony begins on the Jeju patio 4:30 PM: Post-ceremony drinks and appetizers 5:30 PM: Dinner begins 7:00 PM: Dessert is served 7:30 PM: Karaoke reception begins 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Event concludes
The ceremony will take place on Jeju's intimate patio. Seating is limited, with approximately 36 chairs available for our 50 guests. The ceremony will be brief, lasting approximately 20 minutes, so guests who stand will not be required to do so for an extended period. We ask that guests allow those who are physically unable to stand for the duration, along with their parties, first priority for ceremony seating. If you require a seat, please plan to grab a chair a few minutes early.
We will have a professional photographer covering the first three hours of the wedding, including the ceremony, family portraits, and appetizer hour. During the wedding ceremony, please allow our professional photographer to capture the event without obstruction by keeping your phone put away. We will share a digital ceremony photo album after the event. The photographer will not be covering the dinner and reception, so we strongly encourage you to take out your phones after the ceremony to take photos of yourselves, friends, and family to share with us later.
Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Cocktails will be available for purchase at the Jeju bar.
We are hosting our reception at Jeju, one of our favorite restaurants in Portland. Rather than guests ordering individual meals, Jeju will serve a set tasting menu. While some dishes may be more adventurous than standard wedding fare, we believe there are great options for everyone to enjoy. The full menu is provided below so you can review it and plan accordingly. Appetizers: Braised Octopus (brussels sprouts, peanut chili crisp) Korean Fried Chicken Wings (soy garlic & ramen essence) Cauliflower Wings (soy garlic & ramen essence). Dinner: Banchan (kimchi, egg drop, silken tofu, fried sunchokes) Kanpachi Hwe (thinly sliced dry-aged amberjack, apple, kohlrabi, perilla dressing, white shoyu) Pan Fried Mandu (beef & pork, black vinegar, bone broth supreme, crispy lace) Ssam (prime beef, bulgogi, galbi ribs, apple pork sausage, lettuces, herbs, assorted pickles, allium salad, ssam-jang, crispy buttered rice). Dessert: Pistachio cinnamon bungeoppang, berry bungeoppang, chocolate bites, and wedding cake.
We've confirmed Jeju can accommodate dietary restrictions for guests who have already communicated them to us. If you have a restriction that has not yet been communicated, please contact Mathew immediately at 913-302-9348.
Instead of a DJ and dancing, we are hosting karaoke in the lounge area next to the bar. We encourage all guests to participate, so come prepared and start thinking of a song you'd like to sing! In addition to karaoke in the lounge area, guests can continue to mingle in the dining room and on the patio until 9-10pm.
Downtown Portland has a higher visibility of homeless populations than guests visiting from other parts of the country may be used to. While Kalli and I have spent extensive time in Portland without any issues, there are more unhoused people than you may typically see. If you are uncomfortable with this or are navigating unfamiliar neighborhoods, utilizing rideshare services like Uber or Lyft is a highly recommended option. If you are driving downtown, ensure your car doors are locked and do not leave any valuables or bags in plain sight.
