Bainbridge Island
Just the ferry ride there and back from downtown Seattle is worth it for the views, even if you turn around and get right back on. Bainbridge is also a great place to spend some time exploring for a few hours with tons of galleries, shops, and cafes. Cars are welcome on the ferry, but consider renting a bike from the Ferry terminal!
Discovery Park Loop Trail
Urban hiking at it's best, and easy to access from downtown Seattle!
Woodinville Wine Country
Only a 20 minute drive from the wedding venue area, Woodinville is a great place place to spend the day visiting tasting rooms and sampling Washington wines!
Rattlesnake Ledge Trail
A quick 30 minute drive from downtown and 2 miles up on a well groomed trail for amazing views!
Poo Poo Point Trail
Not only will you get great views, but in mid-summer you'll also be treated to watching the hang gliders (i.e. crazy people) jump from the summit. Trailhead can be tricky to locate, as evidenced by that one time Kalie and Jeff accidentally added many miles each way to the route from starting from the wrong spot... whoops.
Mailbox Peak Trail
Looking for a challenge in close proximity to the city? This route is the answer! Both approaches are difficult, but the old trail is one for the ages - warning, Kalie and Jeff both say this is one of the hardest day hikes they've ever done!
Alki Beach
If we're lucky enough to be blessed with summer weather, there's no better place to explore the shops, enjoy the beach, and admire the view of Seattle than from Alki in West Seattle!
Hot Tub Boat Rentals Seattle
Can't make these things up - take the most unique of Lake Union's "water sport" offerings and buzz around in a mobile hot tub.
