Erin Ruth
Maid of Honor
Erin was born about 3 1/2 months before Kali. They are cousins, but they became friends for life. Dressing up, learning dance routines, and watching scary movies until they were scared to death were a few of their childhood memories. They ended up going to the same high school together and built a long lasting friend group. College included Kali making many trips to U of I where Erin went to school and many other trips together visiting friends. Eventually, Kali and Erin both ended up living in Chicago, where Erin was going to law school and Kali was getting her Masters. They both got to see each other start their careers and fall in love with their partners. Kali and Eric also got to become doggie Aunt and Uncle to Erin and her husband Ante’s dog Charlie, having opportunities to take care of him. Erin and Kali continue to enjoy their FaceTime calls to catch up and chat all about each other’s lives.
Carly Pilarcik
Maid of Honor
Carly and Kali met in preschool, it was a slow burn before sparks really flew. As grade school went on they became closer. Kali would ride her bike over to Carly’s and enjoy hanging out in her back yard. They would spend many days and nights listening to music, watching all the classic movies, and doing their make up and hair. They ended up going to different high schools, but remained closer than ever calling each other and getting through their crazy high school years. They both went to Illinois State University together, at least for two years, until Kali moved back home. They got to experience dorm life and some of their independence for the first time together. Kali moved home, out of state, and then to Chicago, where Carly and her would, get together whenever they could with the Jtown gals. Carly and Kali have shared so many first memories with each other, and continue to share their love of books, tv shows, and movies.
Kyle Wright
Best Man
Eric met Kyle through mutual friends in his neighborhood growing up. Kyle lived a couple streets away from where Eric lived. They quickly hit it off with having the same interests in common. Kyle and Eric would always adventure into the Thunder Bay wild either on foot or exploring on their snowmobiles. When Eric got hired to referee hockey in the United States, they took their trouble making adventure stateside. They officially kicked off their American memories, with being too young to book a hotel room, so they convinced the front desk they were in a corporate group that was staying at the hotel. They almost got caught and kicked out of the establishment, but they were successful in leaving the hotel the following day pulling off their first stunt in America. With so many memories with Kyle, from their childhood into the adult years, Eric couldn’t be more excited that Kyle accepted to be one of his best men to stand up with him.
Christian Kachkowski
Best Man
Eric first met Christian through one of his best friends, Kyle, in Thunder Bay. Eric and Christian first hit it off as friends when he started to offer Eric free wine samples, from his homemade wine collection, to make sure his juice and alcohol levels were up to par. After the wine was such a hit, Christian and Eric started to hangout more and realized they have more in common than just wine tasting. They both liked to mountain bike, go hiking, and camp along Northwestern Ontario’s waterfronts, and sip a cold glass of wine by the campfire. Eric has so many memories with Christian from taking road trips to New Orleans to him visiting Eric in Chicago. There just aren't enough words to describe the memories they have. Eric can’t wait to have Christian walk with him down the aisle as one of his best men, and of course sip a glass of wine afterwards!
