Matron of Honor
Friend of the Bride College roommates by chance, Bailey and Harley immediately bonded over a shared love for college football and basketball. Harley has been there since day one of Bailey and Jon's relationship...literally she was on their first date. Harley even flew across the country to surprise Bailey as the photographer during the proposal!
Best Man
Brother of the Groom Back when both Jeff and Jon were in high school, they couldn’t sit next to each other without some altercation. Luckily, both grew out of that phase once they were no longer under the same roof. Even while they might not have always gotten along, Jon knew that his older brother always looked out for him. Nowadays, they can share jokes and obscure references to TV shows that no one else gets, although their rivalry continues with board games, trivia, and fantasy football.
Bridesmaid
Sister-in Law of the Bride Heather and Bailey initially met as teammates in rec league kickball. After Heather and Robert started dating, Heather quickly beat out both Bailey and Robert to earn the title of "favorite child" by baking and hand-decorating nutcracker cookies for their mother. In September 2022, Heather officially became a Baker!
Groomsman
Brother of the Bride Jon’s first-time meeting Bailey’s parents was during their family’s annual Easter alcohol hunt. Robert appropriately welcomed Jon to his future family by diving past him to snag a mini bottle of vodka. Luckily, their relationship has progressed thanks to a shared interest in college sports, friendly competition, and most importantly, making fun of Bailey.
Bridesmaid
Future Sister-In-Law Kennedy and Bailey met and immediately bonded as the two new faces at the annual Spiller Family Campout. Bringing up their shared love of home decor, in particular throw pillows, is always good for at least one comment and eye roll from both Jon and Jeff.
Groomswoman
Friend of the Groom Starting grad school at the same time, Jon and Kayla were lucky enough to join the same lab. That led to five years where they supported each other through venting sessions, memes, and the occasional adult beverage. Unsurprisingly, Kayla was the only one to cry when asked to be in the wedding.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the Bride Allie and Bailey grew up spending every summer camping together for various softball and basketball tournaments. Over the years they spent countless hours in the gym together playing a variety of sports. Despite no longer living in the same city after high school, Allie and Bailey have only become closer over the past 10 (has it been that long??) years.
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom Whether it was playing pickup sports, chilling in the Taco Bell parking lot, or having Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments, Jon and Nate could always count on each other to do most anything. While they don’t hang out as much as they used to, when they’re together the conversation picks right back up like they are still in high school.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the Bride Emily and Bailey first met at dance class when they were four years old. Thankfully, their parents both gave up quickly on the idea of them becoming dancers and signed them up for every youth sports league that was available.
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom As fellow Wisconsinites, Jon and Josh became fast friends during their time at Michigan State. Fortunately, Josh was a year ahead in the program and helped guide Jon along the road to obtaining a Ph.D. Now, their conversations still range from science questions to how the new passing game will look like for the Badgers.
Bridesmaid
Sister-in-Law of the Groom Setting the daughter-in-law bar high for both Bailey and Kennedy to try to meet. You wouldn't know it by talking to her but when it comes to card/board games Ilsa is sneakily just as competitive as Bailey.
Officiant & Groomsman
Brother of the Groom Some might think that having a brother that’s 13 years older than you might be weird, but Jon always loved having someone to look up to. Ryan is also the source of Jon and Jeff’s love for sports, as he continues to dominate them in sports trivia to this day. When it came time to decide who the officiant would be, Bailey and Jon knew immediately who they wanted to be up there with them.
Jr. Bridesmaid
Niece of the Groom At 9 years old, Leah is always full of energy! One of Jon's proudest moments includes Leah excitedly sharing that she got a microscope for Christmas (it was a microphone). With her years of training, she will be sure to show everybody up on the dance floor!
Jr. Groomsman
Nephew of the Groom As the youngest in the family, Jon was never around babies until Caleb was born. Luckily, it didn’t take long for Caleb to develop his love of Pokémon so they would have something to bond over. Going so far as them selecting a Pokémon poster to hang in Jon’s apartment when he moved to Michigan that is still proudly displayed in Jon’s house today. While Caleb would never say who his favorite uncle is, I think we all know the answer.
Usher
The third member of the Hardy Lab at Michigan State, Justin and Jon became quick friends and trusted colleagues. After graduating, they both made the move to Ann Arbor where they continued to work together on a trivia team.
Usher
Friend of the Groom As another Wisconsinite at Michigan State, Matt and Jon quickly bonded over their love of Wisconsin sports, video games, and competitive board games.
Usher
Husband of the Matron of Honor Nike's true best friend. Once caused Nike to excitedly pee all over the floor of Jon's apartment when he saw him walk in the door. Hopefully, Nike gets it all out of his system before walking down the aisle with him!
