Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kalene Heilesen and Ross Bryant
Rome is a small town but there's definitely some fun things you can add to your to-do list if you're staying in Rome for the weekend. This list has some of our favorite places to visit, hike, explore, drink, hang out, and eat!

Berry College

2277 Martha Berry Highway, Mount Berry, GA 30149

Obviously, you should definitely explore Berry's campus! Not only was it our home for 4 years, it's also the largest campus in the world where students are outnumbered by deer. There are plenty of easy trails to walk or pretty spots to take photos. We hope you can see why it's such a special place to us! If you're looking for on campus hiking trails, I suggest the Old Mill to the Reservoir trail (1.1 miles), the House o' Dreams trail (2.6 miles), or walking the loop around Victory Lake.

Oak Hill & Martha Berry Museum

24 Veterans Memorial Highway Northeast, Rome, GA 30165

Tour the beautiful gardens and a historical house while learning the history of Martha Berry, the founder of Berry College

Clock Tower

410 East 2nd Street, Rome, GA 30161

Climb to the top to get the best views of Rome, Georgia

Capitoline Wolf

601 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161

This statue was donated from THE Rome, Italy! It is an exact replica of the famous Lupa Capitolina sculpture which shows the legend of the founding of Rome. The original is found at the Capitoline Museums in Rome, Italy! I, Kalene, took Latin for 4 years and visited Italy with my teacher, think it's a super cool spot. Definitely selfie-stop worthy!

Braves Miracle Field of Rome

755 Braves Boulevard Northeast, Rome, GA 30161

Watch a Baseball games at Rome's MiLB stadium

Dark Side of the Moon

236 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161

Nice bar downtown open til 1:30 am. Also, a rooftop bar up the stairs called the Moon Roof bar. Open air seating and live music on Fridays & Saturdays. Open until 11pm. A great place to check out after the wedding!

River Remedy Brewing Co.

241 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161

For our beer lovers! The brewery has a nice shaded patio and offer their own RRBC soda with rotating flavors for the non-drinkers. Also pet friendly!

Cosmic Dog Outpost

1 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161

A chill outdoor beer garden in downtown Rome on the Etowah River and a great place to hang out! Open until 2am on Saturdays

ECO Center

393 Riverside Parkway Northeast, Rome, GA 30161

Have a self guided tour of wildlife exhibits or walk along the river on a paved trail

James H. "Sloppy" Floyd State Park

2800 Sloppy Floyd Lake Road, Summerville, GA 30747

We recommend the Marble Mine trail. It is an easy, 1.7 mile round trip hike with an abandoned mine entrance, trickling waterfall, and a beautiful lake. There are also some great picnic shelters in the park.

Honeymoon Bakery

228 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161

This is the best bakery in town and another certified Rome classic. They are catering our wedding cake but if you want to explore their other desserts, it is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. (I recommend their cream horn 10/10)

Southern Seasons - Tea Room & Tea Emporium

118 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161

The cutest downtown shop with private tea rooms and a massive selection of teas available for purchase. The owner is incredibly kind and always up for a friendly chat!

SoHo Hibachi

1505 Shorter Avenue Northwest, Rome, GA 30165

This local Japanese spot is a certified Berry College CLASSIC. Good food, large portions, and great prices. It's the Groom's favorite restaurant in Rome.

Jerusalem Grill

223 Turner McCall Boulevard, Rome, GA 30165

Another great restaurant in Rome! Lots of delicious Mediterranean food options with a very homey atmosphere.

Doug's Deli Downtown

606 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161

If you're looking for a local deli in Rome with amazing sandwiches, this spot is for you!

Roma Mia

3401 Martha Berry Highway, Rome, GA 30165

There are LOTS of great Italian spots in Rome but this one is my personal favorite!

Sam's Burger Deli

3268 Martha Berry Highway, Rome, GA 30165

You can't miss the massive planes outside this delicious American food spot. Easygoing atmosphere and great to bring the whole family.

Cloudland Canyon State Park

122 Cloudland Canyon Park Road, Rising Fawn, GA 30738

Only an hour from Rome, Cloudland Canyon has some really great views, two beautiful waterfalls, and a ton of steps. It's also where I (Kalene) broke my ankle and had to be carried down the mountain. FYI- don't wear Chaco sandals and end up like me.

Little River Canyon

Little River Falls, Cherokee County, AL

This national nature preserve is an hour west from Rome, right over the Alabama state line. There are lots of trails, photo stops, and the canyon waterfall is huge. The water is also often open for swimming so bring your swimsuit and hop in!
