Their Story

Jake and Kaleigh met early in their first year at Cedarville University and developed a close friendship over the course of three years. They enjoyed countless movies, card games, and swing dancing with their group of friends. Over time, they began to realize how well their values and passions fit together. Despite being friend-zoned twice, Jake kept pursuing Kaleigh. Eventually they went to a bluegrass festival together where they talked the night away and something just clicked. That was the night they realized that they could never get enough time together. A little over a year after they began dating, Jake surprised Kaleigh by proposing during a photoshoot for two of their closest friends. A second surprise was in store for Kaleigh as both the Tanner and Smith families traveled and were waiting to celebrate the engagement together. Jake and Kaleigh have been able to love and support each other through difficult times and big life decisions. All the while, they are still having fun and making each other laugh and can't wait to do the same as husband and wife.

COVID-19 Concerns

We realize that there are a variety of feelings and concerns surrounding this pandemic. It has made planning a wedding particularly difficult as we want everyone to feel welcome and safe. With this in mind, we are asking a few things of you. First, we ask that you stay home if you feel unwell. This small act can have such a big impact in slowing or even stopping the spread of this virus. Second, we ask that you defer to the comfort level of others. While you may be comfortable with big hugs, some of our guests may not even be comfortable with a handshake. Third, we ask that you wash your hands frequently. This is another small act that can have a huge impact on the spread of germs. Hand sanitizers will be available for use, and the restrooms will be available for hand-washing. Lastly, we ask that you consider your own health and safety. While this day is specifically celebrating our marriage, we care about each of you. If you have pre-existing conditions that put you in a higher risk category, we want you to feel free to decline our invitation if you are concerned for your own health. If these few small things are done, we believe everyone will have a wonderful (and safe) time. There is a chance that our plans will be dramatically changed by this virus. If that is the case, we will contact you to let you know the details of the new plans. We appreciate your help and patience if there are changes.
