Maid of Honor
I could not have been blessed with two better sisters. Savannah is whole-hearted, a ray of sunshine. If you have met her, she has inevitably hugged you, encouraged you, passed on a beloved book to you, or all of the above. Her love for Jesus and those He loves is central to her being. She has taught me so much about what it means to love intentionally and sacrificially.
Matron of Honor
Taylor is an adventurer, with a tender heart. I am inspired by her creativity, style, integrity and thoughtfulness. She is one of the funniest people I have ever met (if we're lucky, she will pull out the "Mr. Bean dance" on the dance floor). Her ability to make me laugh is matched by her ability to make me think deeply, as her thoughts are always packed with intentionality and poignancy.
Bridesmaid
Mindy and I have been friends since the 3rd grade. We bonded over common interests - School, sports, reading, singing. She is an unbelievably talented writer and performer. Mindy has taught me a lot about humility, compassion, and the value of emotional connection. Even before she started training to become a professional counselor, she was always a source of comfort and wisdom.
Bridesmaid
Mallory and I have been friends since Pre-K. She is brave, kind, and whip-smart. She wears many hats, and does it well. Whether it's music, physical fitness, writing, teaching, Naval history or Lord of the Rings folklore, Mal gives it her all. Her intelligence is only matched by her approachability. She will always make you feel welcome and seen.
Bridesmaid
Tity and I met in Family Medicine residency in Memphis. She is a force! Her joy and love for Jesus are undeniable and contagious. Like a Proverbs 31 woman, she laughs at the days to come. Though she is known for her joyfulness, I also have so much regard for her depth of character and steady perseverance. Through any challenge, I am so grateful to know that Tity has my back!
Bridesmaid
No one ever had a more fitting name. At a point when work was at its most trying, God brought this amazing friend into my life. We have shared an office as colleagues for over a year now, and it has been filled with a lot of laughter and prayer. Her heart for her patients spurs me on everyday. She has the gift of hospitality, and always makes others feel at home.
Bridesmaid
Lindsay and I met through church. She has been such a sweet friend - even before she introduced me to her cousin Kaleb! She is marked by gentleness and grace. Her words are flavored with the love of Jesus, and her actions are fueled by His calling on her life. The walks we shared this past year were some of my favorite covid-friendly activities!
Bridesmaid
Noël is my soon to be sister-in-law. I look forward to the intriguing bits of Kaleb-trivia that she will be able to provide as his older sister. She is passionate and driven, and the kind of person who runs toward a burning building instead of away from it. I have felt so welcomed by her and the entire Parks family.
Best Man
Though we look almost nothing alike, Seth is my younger (and previously shorter) brother. I wasn’t thrilled when he first passed me up in height, but it’s been a privilege to see all the ways he’s grown over the years. He is a driven, charismatic leader who loves Jesus and cares deeply about others. He puts a ton of his time and energy towards investing in people and pursuing his passions, and he’s also one of the funniest guys you’ll meet. I couldn’t ask for a better guy to be my best man.
Groomsman
I met Austin when we shared a small room for a summer in India. Despite some initial tension, our shared propensity to quote Nacho Libre laid the foundation for a pretty solid friendship. Fast-forward a couple years and we were sharing even smaller rooms while bouncing around some ridiculously cramped bachelor pads in Phoenix. Austin's constant discipline and relentless pursuit of the Lord have taught me a lot. He never fails to challenge me and hold me accountable to walking in righteousness.
Groomsman
Matt and I started becoming close friends on a road trip to L.A. and have gone on some pretty memorable adventures since then. Equal part outdoorsman and real estate whiz, he's always teaching me something new or providing thoughtful perspective in the midst of long hikes and deep conversations. Matt is an accomplished man with big dreams, but he carries deep humility and dependence on God. Our time as roommates showed me firsthand how he centers his life around Jesus day in and day out.
Groomsman
Though my first encounter with Wes was standing in front of him at a concert, we didn't properly meet until my last semester of college. We immediately bonded over our international upbringings and shared love of sports, and I quickly came to find out that he's already got enough wild stories to last a lifetime. Wes is a deep, philosophical thinker whose spiritual insight has helped me through some difficult times. He has greatly increased my knowledge of theology as well as British slang.
Groomsman
I met Daniel at a college retreat my freshman year when they asked who had traveled the farthest for school. I figured I had it in the bag since I'd moved from Indonesia, not realizing that this guy from New Zealand was standing right behind me. I later found out he had roots in Southeast Asia, which gave us plenty to talk about. Whether it's rugby, chess, or day trading, Daniel is a man of many talents. He is devoted to following Jesus but unafraid to examine his beliefs and ask difficult questions, which challenges me to do the same.
Groomsman
Kyle and I also met during that fateful summer in India when he lived in the room right next to mine. He initially struck me as quiet and reserved, but quickly turned out to be the life of the party. We've been close ever since and later wound up being roommates in Waco. Kyle is always willing to take risks in pursuit of his dreams. He's steadfast in his relationship with Jesus and brings the same consistency to his friendships. He is a faithful, loyal friend who has seen the depth of my failures and still chooses to believe the best about me.
Groomsman
I met Andy when I visited Phoenix for the first time and we hit it off immediately. Little did we know we'd become lifelong friends and even live together for a time. Andy is a master of comedy, accents, strategic board games, and all things Lord of the Rings. Our friendship has yielded a trove of ridiculous inside jokes that are usually only funny to us (and Austin). I've met few people who so embody the love and kindness of Jesus towards others. Andy is an empathetic listener who I can always count on for advice and encouragement.
Groomsman
Jackson is my future brother-in-law and one of the most talented guys I know. Whether it's graduating West Point, creating top-notch artwork, playing guitar or captaining the football team, the man can do it all. His talent is only matched by his character. In the short time I've known him, I've seen his love for Jesus and his family as well as his loyalty and integrity. As a future Army officer, he's also the groomsman I'd least want to pick a fight with. He has been a great brother to Whit and I have no doubt he'll be a great brother-in-law.
