A California girl and a New Jersey boy walked into a bar for brunch... Jones Wood Foundry on Manhattan's Upper East Side to be exact. They laughed over showing up in matching white Converse high-tops and shared french fries (read: Anthony ate Kalah's fries). But little did they know at the time, there were unseen forces at play: Sara and Kyle Cavorley, matchmaker extraordinaires, who "always thought Anthony and Kalah would hit it off." On one side of the country, Sara and Kalah grew up together, going from the Toro Park Elementary School playground to roommates at San Diego State University. Meanwhile, Kyle and Anthony became close friends while attending Rutgers University. Then, Kalah and Kyle unknowingly flip-flopped. Kyle moved to San Diego, met Sara, got married, and lived happily ever after. Kalah moved to the East Coast—Anthony's home turf—and Sara and Kyle made their match. Fate, indeed! A lot has happened between that "casual brunch with some of Kyle's random NYC friends," and Anthony proposing atop The Summit of One Vanderbilt, with the New York City skyline in the background: Vacations around the world, multiple new jobs, moving several times—including moving in with each other—adopting not one, but TWO kittens named Lola and Petunia (many of you are still wondering how Kalah talked Anthony into that one), an engagement ring (many of you are still wondering how Kalah talked Anthony into that one, too—kidding, kidding!), and wedding planning to boot. The full circle moment? After the proposal, Anthony and Kalah took the subway uptown and had a celebratory brunch where it all began: Jones Wood Foundry!
Our hearts are so full and we're eternally grateful, not just to our matchmakers, Sara and Kyle, but to all the family and friends who have inspired our relationship and helped to shape the people we each fell in love with. Now, we get to celebrate and share our love with those very people (YOU!) and we can't wait! We hope you can make it to our wedding! Love, Anthony & Kalah
