Hiking

There are a ton of beautiful hikes in and around Breckenridge. And in fall, most of these have beautiful changing leaves! Some of our favorites: -Mohawk Lakes: Moderate hike, about 8.5 miles round trip and leads to beautiful lakes in Blue River, CO -McCullough Gulch Trail: Moderate trail, about 6 miles round trip that leads to waterfalls and then a lake. Located in Blue River, CO -Sawmill Reservoir: Easy hike on Four O'clock Rd in Breckenridge, about 2 miles long and leads to a beautiful reservoir with views of the mountains -Rainbow Lake: Easy hike, about 2 miles long that leads to a little lake. Located in Frisco, CO There are so many more hikes in the area and a little further out in Vail, CO so don't hesitate to reach out for more ideas!

Mountain Biking

There are a range on mountain biking trails and plenty of places in town to rent bikes. A few of our favorite trails are: -Frisco Peninsula Lakeshore Loop: Good for advanced beginner, this loop is about 6 miles with gorgeous views of the lake. Single track trail with minimal climbing. -Horseshoe Gulch/Blair Witch Trail: Easy - moderate trail that's about 4 miles long in Breckenridge. Couple little sections of climbing but makes for some great downhill sections. -B&B Trail: Easy trail that's about 2 miles long in Breckenridge. There are many trails that come off of this one for exploring

Road Biking

Biking is very popular here so you can ride on any road. There is a bike trail that goes through Breckenridge along the river, to Frisco all the way to Vail. We would highly recommend doing the Vail Pass Bike Tour. Most of the rental stores in the area do this tour - they will shuttle you up to Vail Pass and you just ride a bike back down to Frisco where they will pick you up. No athletic ability required and the ride is breathtaking!

Hot Springs

Although not in Breckenridge, about an hour to 2 hour drive in any direction will get you to hot springs! Our favorite is Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa about an hour away - although outdated, there are about 20 different pools at different temperatures and tends to be less crowded than the other ones. There are a couple different hot springs resorts in Glenwood, which is about a 2 hour drive and Steamboat offers one of the more popular hot springs - Strawberry Hot Springs, which is also about a 2 hour drive. And in another direction, about a 2 hour drive is Princeton Hot Springs outside of Buena Vista, which is a very cute town!

Fly Fishing

Breckenridge Outfitters right off of Main Street has an array of fly fishing options on the Blue River right in town
